Stocking up for the next time hard drive makers use natural calamities as pretense to inflate prices and still turn record financial results? It's Lian Li to the rescue. The aluminum chassis specialist unveiled PC-D8000, a massive full-ATX tower case with room for twenty hard drives. Measuring a gargantuan 405 x 628 x 572 mm (WxDxH), and weighing 26 lbs (13 kg), the PC-D8000 packs twenty 3.5-inch drive bays arranged in two stacks that span the entire height of the case in the front portion. In addition, the case packs six 5.25-inch bays, from which one features front-panel ports.

Internally, the case features a detachable motherboard and expansion card tray, letting you install the motherboard and add-on cards outside the case. The tray supports HPTX form-factor motherboards (such as EVGA SR-X), and graphics cards as long as 410 mm (16-inch). The case provides room for two PSUs, letting you set up redundant power supply, or combine the power output of two units, by wiring them to different components. We spy as many as eighteen provisions for 140 mm fans. German retailer Alternate.de lists the PC-D8000 for pre-order, priced at 329 Euros.

Hm one can kill someone and hide their dismembered body parts in this thing.

It's roughly the size of a dishwasher.

Feel the space. Feel it.

Does it come with preinstalled air-co?

Sexy thing. If I would buy a chassi this size I think I'd rather take a Thermaltake Mozart though. I know they're for different crowds but still.

get rid of the fan slots and install central air.

Get 6 and you can invite guests. Chairs is you least problem. Anyway I like the possibility to add a lot of slow running 140 mm fans. I will have one soon.

I like it. Plenty of room for watercooling inside may have to look into one of these. Been wanting to g dual psu as well.

Thermaltake?????? realllllllllly? gross

I didn't think I would ever see the day someone would pick Thermaltake over Lian Li.

the internet is crazy these days, just crazy. :nutkick:

Mountain Mods or Case Labs imo but I do like it... just not for me, I wouldn't know where to put a computer that big. nor would I have the money to fill a case that big properly.

I .. what? Look here .. I .. what?

Don't take it personally, my experience with Thermaltake isn't good, all the cases I have seen and used personally are complete junk plastic and steel
While all the Lian Li cases are brush alum joy of bliss

Well, you could always just put an AC unit inside the thing to keep it cool..
Maybe a freezer and just open the doors inside.. w/e...

LOL, as with most Lian Li cases, it will be terribly over priced for what it is..........$600 USD?

$600... that's all?

CaseLabs and Mountain Mods cases are that + some. if you add anything to it there cases can be close to $1000+

It is a small market and really how many people buy these cases? and we they do they like to be able to change features... reason I like Mountain Mods so much, that and they are just down the road from me. I order a part and they have driven it to me within the next hour or two. hehe

Agreed, Case Labs are much more enthusiast oriented, and I'm sure are a higher quality. For such a large chassis, this thing isn't set up to accommodate loops very well at all.

The lack of accommodations is what I like were is the fun in a case mod if everything just bolts right in.

I think the theory is you shouldn't have to take a sawzall to a $600+ case and not many people will
