No, just no.

I wanna see the face of those who will use the onboard instead of this and get a huge boost

It uses GDDR3, that's how old it is.

Christ, the only use for this is for someone to drive multiple monitors who doesn't have enough ports on their motherboard.

Isn't this misleading and in breach of advertising law/regulations?

If GT710 delivers a perfect DX12 gaming experience, then what does GTX980 Ti deliver?? Uber ultra, super perfect??

I'm wracking my brain on who should realistically buy this, especially with a newer, say within two years, CPU. I have an old AMD 955 laying around, but even then I'd not consider anything less than a GTX 750Ti.

Jesus..

Even the most hardened Nvidia supporter must be face palming over these awesome new gaming cards.

Bring on Polaris please.

Usually Nvidia gives 1800MHz speed for the memory and almost always while the time passes manufacturers put slower memory than that. While most models seems to have 1600MHz and 1800MHz DDR3 memory on them, we will definitely see models with 1400MHz, 1200MHz or even 1066MHz DDR3 in the future(see GT 610/GT620/GT 730/etc cards in the market). That means single digit bandwidth in 2016.

It's DDR3 actually (the same used for PCs), not GDDR3.
Manufacturers often misuse this

Or someone needing HMDI out, but then a GT 210 makes more sense.

Now I have not cared about news before, but this one takes the cake.

dear god is this a new low, the person responsible for this advertisements copy should be felling pretty sad by now. thx manlies

Well might be fine for htpc:s, with old cpus. But it does not have hdmi2.0 and no hevc decoding either so why bother(if only nvidia would update a gm108 to gm208 with gm206 hw decoder block).

But that manli marketing, gives makes me feel like rocco in boondock saints...

The onboard graphics of most CPU's beats this card quite handily.

Of course, but I said old and I really mean old. Who sane people would buy this for gaming anyway. And new intel/amd igpus have better or same decoding capabilities so there's no reason to buy this card if you have reasonable fresh cpu.

Still no point. At least here a passive GT210 can be had for half the price of this. Add €15 to this and you get a GT 730 GDDR5.

gt210 has very weak decoding capabilies for todays standards, gk208's hw decoder can decode 4k h264 videos and cuvid hybrid decoder could be able to decode up-to hevc main 8b 4k videos.

Well 15€ is a lot in low end, think about it if you are buying a card for htpc and gt 710 can do the same job as gt730, why on earth you should pay extra.

Intels igp can do that

Probably this is aimed at older cpus with weaker igpu or no igpu. You can save an entire pc upgrade with this little one.

This isn't even worth the pcb it was printed on...

Depends on your needs and budget. Like I said, it can save an entire pc upgrade if you have an old htpc just for films.

The 730 is already almost free...

Well, the gt730 goes for around 70€, is not almost free precisely. I think this one will take gt210 place.

Where the heck did you get screwed into that? They are $20-30 AMIR here.
