4A Games has announced that they're happy with the development on Metro: Exodus as it stands today, and have announced that the game has gone gold (meaning, that it is in a state where it can be produced en-masse and shipped to the achingly awaiting public). Metro: Exodus, the third game accompanying Artyom's struggle to survive in post-apocalyptic Russia, is the first game from the developer to feature an open-world design, and confidence should be going through the roof as it relates to this particular title's quality.

The game has a launch date for February 15th, and will be featuring support for NVIDIA's RTX technology (expectedly, upon launch day). We'll be here to see how that works out in this particular title, of course. In the meantime, 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver have released the full title sequence for the game, which should whet your appetites for the survival game that's coming soon.

yay? the last 2 were good

Have to admit I am a bit hyped for this one.

for me, the last 2 games gave me motion sickness/vertigo. I will avoid this game at all cost. lol

Your body was rejecting the neural immersion... unless it was an fps issue for you, which can also induce that.

Increase FOV to get rid of the motion sickness.

You mean, decrease ;) Most of the sickness is given by a too larger FOV and the fish eye effect.

Not for me personally - it's caused by way too much motion in a tiny box, once you increase the motion becomes more 'gradual' and you dont really have to scan as much to turn, thus reducing that "spinning" effect that causes it.

Today's 70fov is disgusting and nauseauting. The very original 3d shooters (wolf, duke, doom) all defaulted to 90. Great games allow up to 120fov, of which I find 110fov comfortable on 1440p.

Same... i have a dell 144hz. and after playing a 75 fov game it feels like someone clapped me in the back of the head with a shovel.

No problems with the older games AT ALL... i can even play unreal (the original) at like 2x speed and nothing happens.

I don't really have problems with default FoV in games. I almost never change it.

On topic: I'm really hyped about the new Metro, so I hope it won't disappoint! I need a new PC first though.

Yeah, the first two games were better.
If you had motion sickness with Metro games, you should try Wolfenstein games.

Hm, I remember a game going gold meant it was a week or so from release...

And I figured Gold meant they had sold enough preorders to reach gold status in sales. I was thinking it was a sad thing to have all those preorders. Glad to see I was mistaken.

Gold build is basically post-beta.

Not going to agree with wikipedia on that. As long as I can remember, in software publishing, going "Gold" means that the gold master disc for printing/pressing discs has been made and the software is ready for retail.
But that is what Wikipedia is saying. Or at least that how i read what Wikipedia is saying.

When I was doing Alpha testing for Arenanet, Guild Wars 1, when they said the game went gold that was the final code released for the cd/dvd installers.

Interesting that you say that. It reminds me of how STALKER gave my bro-in-law motion sickness/vertigo. That was the first time I've seen it happen to anyone with a game.
