well im taking the modified (or trying seeing as it hsnt been tested yet) drivers that were already made and im adding them to the current drivers than im modifying the default .ini files to include the newely modified ones thats also how im adding card compatability seeing as all i need to do is add device id's and strings that they took out....a quatro is nvidias server class graphics cards like ATI's fireGL line.

I'm extremely skeptical. Though if you somehow manage to get it to work I won't complain.

As for the Quatro, I was actually trying to point out they're not called Quatro but Quadro. And they're not for servers but workstations. Servers generally use chips like ATI's ES1000 (before that some rage chips) and XGI Z7/Z9.

LOL, no, I have the of 174 drivers.

To avoid full driver upload, the idea was, for you just upload the hacked files.;)

For XP 32, need to install it on other HDD.:(

You know how hard that is to do.

If you got those drivers running stable on Crysis with a X38/X48 I would say make a paypal donate button on the page with the files. If they worked I know I would donate at least $100 to the cause. I bet alot of other people would donate some aswell.

More power to ya! :)

the old drivers dont have support for all the recent gpus. its not just a matter of adding new device ids.

the only way you can approach this is by reverse engineering the driver, understanding its code, finding where the check is if sli can be enabled and remove that check. maybe an actual nvidia chipset with certain features is really required for sli operation, for current gpu generations this has never been investigated.

good luck. dont expect "a few hours" to get this done

if it works, be ready to face the wrath of nvidia's legal department

Perhaps I'm just being a retard but isn't there another way? Fooling the drivers that a supported chipset is being used? Theoretically speaking of course. If it was anyway near easy it would have been done already.

well they had managed to do it with 87.25's and i had read a thread over at vr zone i think were they added support for cards by adding device strings and modifying what registry entries are entered and a bunch of ppl it seems got it to work...but their are some driver discrepencies in the ini file of the new ones so its totally possible i wrote it in wrong or in the wrong spot which is causing these errors so im going to do one stage at a time. I know that it will be pretty hard i was talking about a couple hours to atleast remake the ini file with absolutely no garentee it will even work then...im going to try though no sense in giving up gives me something to do anyway.

No sorry here, it's not wasted time.

BTW it also gave me the power error, like if I didn't connect the power cable to the GFX card. Witch I did obviously.

Solaris, If others did have the ability to have right now sli, they'd help no matter what. Its a trial and error sort of thing. Your an extreme modder, I'll never say that is a lie, just know that even if your trial and error don't work at the first time, try try again. We'll all ways be behind your back on anything you do man! It takes time.

I do say good luck, and If I can get a second card in here, I'd help ya man.

Have fun with your girl and her family. You do deserve it man!!!

the basic approach is the same. you need to identify the piece of code that determines what a supported chipset is and then fake the info. since it's incredibly hard to really fake device ids, bypassing the check seems like the more viable option to me. i may be wrong though
