Monster Hunter: World Benchmark Performance Analysis

Never even heard of any Monster Hunter games. I still guess that 980 OC would run nicely at 1080p60.

So much fuss about performance yet it seems to run pretty good even on mid-range hardware.

what world are you living in? the graphics are nothing special yet this game is more demanding than just about anything else out there.

Some testing,
some say downgrading drivers to 398.36 improves performance over the MHW release driver

And it did, it doubled my framerate on mine on several scenarios. One worthy example is the opening in the ship, it was running at 30+ to 50FPS throughout that place till going to the new world on high-mid settings but now it maxes at 75fps (my monitor vsync) aside from occasional 45fps drops, CPU usage was same at 90+%

I agree tbh, looks pretty decent once the volumetric is off.

But, looking at the graphics quality, you can see its not all too great. Low poly and low texture res left and right.

I think there is an issue with the texture detail being loaded, the PS4 version has superior textures vs PC's max

Comparable AMDs beating the NV ones (RX580-GTX 1060, Vega56-GTX1070) by about 10%. Nice one.

Could be more if volumetric was active. I't seems that volumetric effect puts the Nvidia cards on their knees.

I just realized that the benchmark test used the MHW driver, i wonder if it used the older 398.36 or the hotfix, it clearly boosted the performance on mine by substantial amount.

my resolution is set to high and no dynamic resolution, its probably the game just using low assets.

Also picked up a 3770K OC'd it to 4.2Ghz at 90usd and its already much better than the 3570k 4.2Ghz, this game really likes many threads
