mouse mats

I have an old steelseries that's too thin, currently using an Ultra (from TigerDirect), my favorite because it's nice and thick (5mm) and a good size (250mm x 300mm). I haven't tried any of the new Corsair mouse mats, (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/gaming-mouse-mats). They seem to have the best selection of sizes, thicknesses, and surfaces, even a couple of huge ones (930mm x 300mm) that also fit your keyboard.

I've also used this Perrix mat, but it isn't as heavy or sticky to surfaces as the SteelSeries, but does hold up very well...my kids have abused the hell out of it and it cleans up easily and is holding up quite well...

Using the QcK large mat as well and so far no complaints whatsoever. I wouldn't use a glass mouse mat for the life of me, a cold/hard surface is the worst thing I can possibly put my arm on. I also had an aluminium one, absolutely dreadful.

Division Zero pad

I usually hate pads after using several: a few random gaming pads, Razer, generic eBay, etc. I tried this one and it's just great haven't gone back to my IKEA desk :laugh:

I use a SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad. It ran me about 20-25 bucks on Amazon but it's got a rubber base that keeps it steady, the surface is smooth and it basically does what you need it to do without having to get crazy and spend a ridiculous amount of money. (I can't believe what some people are paying for these things! :laugh:
