MSI Announces Syren Series PC Audio Products

That SyrenSound card is the same thing MSI packs with its high-end motherboards. It's as good as X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E (no CA20K audio processor, no EAX 5.0).

Both MSI SyrenSound X-Fi and ASUS SupremeFX X-Fi use Creative CA0110 audio chip. It's with motherboards such as ASUS Rampage II Gene, and MSI P6N Diamond, where the two used CODECs backed by Creative software.

Uhm, no, MSI has the low-end X-Fi chips, Asus uses a software patch, just like Gigabyte, although Asus generally use Analog Device while Gigabyte relies on Realtek chips. The ADI chips should in theory be slightly better than the Realtek ones.

Xonars from ASUS are based on C-MEDIA chipsets.

It is the same exact card that MSI ships with their X58 Eclipse, which sounds worst than the X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-E due to MSI using cheap components, no joke, Its based on the CA0110 so it can't do any hardware processing so MSI is lying on their site.

and the X-Fi MB drivers on the ASUS boards sound better than Gigabytes because Gigabyte only really uses realtek and ASUS uses only ADI on theirs for the X-Fi MB and the ADI codecs have cleaner audio
