Yeah their Motherboards were good, their GPUs not so much.Well, I don't know if motherboards are any different, but I really like the MSI AM4 board I have. Stable, well executed, lots of control with the fans and lots of headers. Can't complain at all.
Honestly surprised anyone would willingly pass on making a GPU of any brand right now. Even the B580 is selling at marked up prices. Why would anyone avoid any part of this market when the products are flying off the shelves?

It makes a lot of sense, you must be an MSI shareholder.
I asked for a source on MSI being the largest AIB motherboard maker, not a PDF of MSI claiming they're the best ever to their investors.

You also have XFX and ASrock. ASrock's challenger D cooler and phantom D cooler are pretty nice.First was HIS, I think last card from them was 5700XT, now MSI... In the end it will be only Sapphire, Powercolor and a bunch of Chineese anime cards with bells and whistles.
Well, their AMD RX 7000s sold rather poorly, and MSI clearly doesnt want to put in the effort to make proper AMD cards.Well, I don't know if motherboards are any different, but I really like the MSI AM4 board I have. Stable, well executed, lots of control with the fans and lots of headers. Can't complain at all.

The GPP was shut down 7 years ago, it was only around for 2 months. People keep claiming this is for GPP but cant seem to point ot any modern system they'd be using.Uncensored: MSI - we'll be sucking on GPP-stick, swallowing deeper than all GPP-subordinates.

Don't think so. Nvidia tried this before with Asus, MSI and Gigabyte. It was super apparent and the backlash was quite intense. It would make no sense whatsoever to do it again but only with MSI.This smells like Nvidia has a hand in this decision. What MSI has been doing is obviously snubbing AMD.

You mean powercolor, sapphire and xfx are making only amd cards cause of amd's anti competitive practices? Or does your argument only apply to nvidia because reasons?I think we all know it's Nvidia, their anti-competitive practices are entirely blatant at this point. They didn't even allow MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS to have their premium SKUs on AMD last gen at all either.

Likely they were treated like crap so they bailed amd and preferred doing business with a better company like nvidia.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. I know you want to, but you can't. AMD's anti competitive practices drives aibs away. God knows what they offer to powercolor sapphire etc to only make amd cards.![]()
Best joke I've read this year, thanks. Nvidia has already taken all the profit margins that AIBs once had. Even as a trillion-dollar company, they couldn’t just sell chips—they had to become VRAM scalpers too. This set off a chain reaction where no one can respect MSRP without sacrificing profit margins. That’s just a fact.
As for MSI abandoning AMD, the only reason is the market situation, they’re trying to make up for it by selling in volume.

It is a self-made problem for MSI. Radeon buyers are negative on MSI because the quality of their products was not up to par, thus probably not worth it for MSI to continue in this market. If MSI put more effort in, it would have been worth it so really the fault is solely with MSI if they couldn't make profits from AMD cards.I don’t think this is a terrible move. Clearly the vast majority of their sales is coming from nVidia, and for any AIB to have to spend R&D money, it needs to pay off. It doesn’t sound like they’ll be missed much from the Radeon crowd anyways.

I sense schilling going on here. the only reason is profit margins, Nvidia partners have smaller margins vs AMD partners, but likely work out even in the end because of retain price differences. You can't have your cake and eat it too. It doesn't cost any R&D when you're reusing parts from previous gen AMD GPU'si like MSI, not sure why all the hate. They probably were losing money, that's the one thing that makes sense. Low sales, R&D is expensive. This is on AMD not them

Anywho who cares if MSI don't want to build AMD GPU's anymore they weren't doing a great job of it to start with so I don't think it's really any loss to consumers between Asus Asrock Powercolor Sapphire and XFX there's plenty of choice for us (and I spose Yeston if you like the waifu bs)
I can see that someday soon MSI will become the next EVGA like victim of nGreedia
MSI never had the best AMD cards, they were lower quality AND higher priced. You want a decent low priced AMD card, ASUS is a better choice than MSI. You want a "higher quality" card, Sapphire is better than MSI.they were reusing because they barely sold any, so it's understandable. AMD shits the bed by not selling any cards, and you blame the AIB's?
