Windows 10 is going to be a free upgrade to everyone who owns windows 7 and 8, so manufacturers have to make sure that those who run through the upgrade on day 1 don't suddenly have non-functional PCs. I see no problem with hardware manufacturers getting their drivers sorted prior to release.

I'd rather see these guys bragging about having compatibility than scrambling to fix things after the fact.

If Windows 10 certification means that Secure Boot cannot be disabled then I have some concerns. I hear this is a feature that is now at the manufacturers discretion. Since some Windows 10 certified motherboard BIOS / UEFI may make Secure Boot compulsory it might be something to look out for,...

This certification is just there so someone can earn money, if it is compliant with Windows 8 or 7 it will also run Windows 10.

I am more interested in certification with Linux distributions (like Debian) and not Windows because we all know that support for hardware on Linux is lesser than on Windows.

Yeah, I thought 7 was basically vista.... until I got a Gigabyte mobo for a friend that didn't have any vista drivers for the nic. The Win7 drivers wouldn't even install... that was fun. And it was was like two years ago... wtf Gigabyte, I feel like not buying their shit anymore, but to hell with it--my hate for Vista saves them....
