The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Suprim SOC is the company's flagship custom design for this launch. It comes with a powerful cooling solution that's among the strongest in our testing. Noise levels are fantastic, whisper-quiet. This is the card you want if you're looking for a low-noise RTX 5080 experience.

Very nice cooling solution!
Cool and quiet! Love it.

I was able to order one.

Too expensive to pay for the 2 FPS extra
You pay for the quietest cooling and possibly the overclocking potential that comes with it.
You can still overclock the card further to get 12%? closer to the 4090, maybe more with voltage tuning.

+25% for the most premium is acceptable.
Asus wants 50% more for the Astral...

MSI has had the quietest cards for like 2-3 generations, good for them. Too bad I don't game anymore, I'd certainly reward them for their good cooling solutions!

PS: Except the unicorn Asus Noctua Editions, crafted from 101% pure unobtainium and paid with three kidneys each from your firstborn twins.

Is there an error in this review re the cooler performance?

On page 39, the Suprim whilst gaming achieves 58 degrees at 31.4 dBa vs the Colorful doing 66 degrees at 34.4 dBa.
Yet on page 40 the Surprim now only acheives 59.5 degrees at 35 dBa vs Colorful topping the charts at 58.8 at 35dBa?

How does the Surprim get hotter whilst getting 4dB louder, whilst at the same time the Colorful gets 7 degrees COOLER whilst being the same volume?

Not really. I have such an expensive card as well. If you have the computer right next to you on the table, if you plan on using the card for at least 5 years. The benefits it gives you for such a long time are easily worth the expense.

Msi cooling solutions are among the best for performing to noise levels, and now with the 50 series they are beating Asus cards in terms of low temperatures while stil achieving below 30db noise, thats fantastic, well done Msi

Power output at stock. I think I should add that to the temps table

And for a lower and consolidated pricing bracket! It's crazy. The gaming trio to the suprim is really only a 50 dollar difference. It must have to do with their finstack, the wave fins and the air antegrade config must be doing something right!

Was this card (and all the other 5080 cards reviewed recently) tested on the performance BIOS, or the Quiet Bios?
Sorry if this was mentioned in the tests. I could not find the info.
