MSI Readies Liquid-Cooled HD 7970 GHz Edition Lightning Graphics Card

Soooo, what you're saying is that it still doesn't make a whit of difference?

Actually what he's saying is that it doesn't cover up the adjacent slot so it can be used for another card and isn't wasted. Would think that is pretty self evident.

holy..
shut up and take my money..:respect:

my problem here is with EK.....how hard would it have been to use lil' lightning bolts instead of circles....wtf

Yeah nobody seems to like circles. Except Eddy I guess.

No we are not :(, this article is purely about the EK full cover waterblock for the R7970 Lightning.

Why don't you guys just go ahead and release a 7990 x2 so everyone on this forum will be completely jaw dropped and satisfied.

And even THEN there will be people that complain ;)
Lol yeah I was thinking just that. How about dropping a hint on us so we could know if it is even in production??

Why are a lot of people b1tchin' about this card? There are many other cards for sale by other mfg's that offer the same deal and no one say's squat! In fact they drool and pre-order

If you don't like it get something else. MSi is just trying to fill some market and make some $$$. They are a business afterall, and businesses have to make $$$

Besides MSi has a butt load of "budget" gear for thrifty enthusiast too :D

Until I see a 7970/GTX680 Single Slot full-cover WB my setup still remains the same.

If you were interested enough you would know that you could purchase a single slot header for like $8 and put in on a reference 79xx board with FCWB and be done. Right? But you knew that. Because it is/was so important to you :p

The card ships with a pre-installed full-coverage water-block, made by EK WaterBlocks

If MSI markets this and still includes the backing plate with the GPU Reactor, for $560-570 tops it will peak peoples interest.

So this this is just an EKWB manufactured offering that MSI consulted on designing? And Legit got it right

btarunr isn't saying that your beef is with him! ;)

Thanks for checking my FB post! :) :toast:

(the rumour about a "GHz Lightning" factory equipped with a waterblock were in softpedia item which is the one from this thread.

im sure ppl would LIKE a water cooled MSI lightning Extreme card.... maybe something like the 6GB 7970 that Sapphire pushed out with the 1200 MHz core clock?

Maybe MSI could do something similar but using that nice shiny EK water block?

you know? give ppl a water cooled card that actually benefits from being water cooled by offering performance no air cooled card can match? maybe have it be limited run to boot make it sexy shiny and fast people will fall all over themselves grabbing them.

You know Ray look at in a different light and why some people buy these blocks. Most wont clock the shit outta there gpu's..
Myself I like the benefits of a great cooler and how quiet a system can be :pimp:

still, why does it matter? u can still install a 3-way in your system.

And nothing else. Have a sound card? Well isn't happening. PCI-based SSD, nope. RAID card? Can't. Wireless networkcard? etc..

But you can overclock the shit out of your GPU and have a quiet system, you just need more radiator surface :toast:

Because I want to use some of the 1x/4x slots in between the 16x slots. Single slot is a must for me too for overall system choice flexibility.

Look at this card again. It cannot go single slot. The second DVI header is in the second slot.

Yeah, but he knew that because it was so important to him.
