MSI Readies N480GTX Lightning Graphics Card

I don't see a point for the Asus Ares, expect for AMD fanboys and their wet dreams...but that's just me...

I see the point in the Asus Ares OWNAGE!! This 480GTX does look great with those extra pins one would think it's a beast of an overclocker.

I don't see a point for the Asus Ares,

Why not? It's the world fastest GPU and comes with 4GB VRAM. It dominates every other GPU that's available. :p

If you're rich and can spend money on something totally overkill for today's games, then it's an awesome card.:p:laugh:

And also considering you can actually buy 2x GTX 480's for a cheaper price and it'll kill the Ares anyways.(unless you work for Goldman Sachs and can buy 2x ASUS Ares cards)

Lol can't argue there. Two GTX 480s will beat the ARES. But for a person with a deep pocket, who can get 2x ARES will blast out anything thats there. ;)

Ya if you can afford 2x ASUS Ares cards and you just want a ton of power, then have at it!!:)

My two 5970 4GBs are already OCed to the ARES speed. So i pretty much have 2x ARES. :D :toast:

do you have complete tutorial about flashed ?

is it always success when we flash ?

and how about guarantee ?

Here's a good quick video on how to flash it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmF0yQfn_Og

But as said in the video, the 465 at hand has to have the same number of memory chips in order for it to work, but considering you have a gold edition card, it should have those extra chips on board.

And no, there is no guarantee if it will work, and if you screw it up during the flash there is a possibility you could brick the card. On the other hand, if you follow the appropriate steps, you could get a GTX 470 for free out of it. But of course yes, there is some risk involved.

Just found some new photo about this card from a website.. Looks like they got it from a participant of MSI MOA 2010 Final earlier this month..

MSI also open the possibilities of hard mod on this card.. They provide some mounting point for additional components..

And, they just released an article about this card's default performance!

That's awesome.^ :)

Anyone's got the benchmarks for this card when it was clocked to 1450mhz?
