NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 680 is certainly generating a lot of excitement, so much so that one AIB maker, MSI, has jumped the gun and put out a few PR goodies relating to the incoming card. Seen below, MSI's marketing materials show off the company's GTX 680 (which is based on NVIDIA's reference design), the new GEFORCE GTX logo, and some specs and features like the 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, the 256-bit memory interface, the quad display outputs, the PCI-Express 3.0 support, and the ability to run four monitors (and a complete 3D Vision Surround setup) from a single card.

MSI's GeForce GTX 680 will also be fully supported by the company's Afterburner utility that's set to provide 'GPU/Memory Clock Offset and Power Limit Control'. Expect an official unveiling of the MSI GeForce GTX 680 this Thursday, March 22nd.

Looks good I'm waiting for eVGAs release.

Does this mean it will support 3 monitors for gaming (basically like Eyefinity) now with just one card?

MSI Afterburner is rubbish. Official final version doesn't even support my card and beta version is half broken. Fan profiles are a total mess and i can't overvolt memory. Whatever i change, it just jumps back to 0.

Awesome can't wait to see the price! Afterburner is THE BOMB! Works flawlessly even for my laptop GPU.

nice, 5-7% increase from default to overclock but they drawing the bar like it was 2 times faster. 2nd picture surely targeted for blind people..

Did, anyone read the fourth slide?

It lists as one of the features "no explosion".. just thought it was funny.

lol massive overclock right there! looks like the 680 is gonna be a real clocker. and no explosion as well, it gets better.:wtf:

How dare you dis a 6% fps increase....

I wonder what settings they use for the Unigine Heaven benchmark? Is there some sort of industry standard?

hahaaha LOL, good point, remembered me with GTX 590 :D.

so far from unofficial bench and compared to HD 7970, whether GTX 690 on par with HD 7970?

It's the GTX680 and probably just a little better. Even if those slides are for pure marketing reasons and 40% over the 580 seems unlikely I still think that up to 35% over the former flagship will pull the 680 ahead of the 7970.

Doesn't look like there's much OC overhead available. 10% maybe? 20% with voltage tweak?

Lol. I bet you all a chocolate cookie that they are talking about GPU Boost...

The wording suggests so: "clock offset", "power limit". And 5-7% difference? Where did I hear that?

why no mention of DX11.1 or stock clocks in the material.. is it 706 or 1006?
i have seen GPU-z 0.6.0 showing 1006 & DX11.1.. but just want to see specs on box

ahh yeah, same like Gigabyte box, no RAM/GPU clock on the front cover..and only said DX11, not DX11.1.

maybe in the back cover we'll find more detail.

hmm.. just wondering .. as AMD 7xxx radeon boxes all have this conspicuously mentioned

2nd and 3rd slide: "*actual result may differ"

Translated:

WE HAVE ÜBER CARD BETTER THAN THE BEST WITH DARTH VADER LEVEL OVERCLOCK!!
*but may turn out to be shit

:D

if these are official slides.. what about NDA?

UPDATE:: looks like NCIX(US) has an OC version(1056MHz?) of this refernce card too N680GTX-PM2D 2GD5/OC

& EVGA adds the OC(superclocked) version 02G-P4-2682-KR too
