Mushkin, Inc., an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance and mission-critical computer products, announced today the official availability of the world's fastest USB flash drive - the Ventura Ultra.

First unveiled at CES 2013, the Ventura Ultra 240 GB USB 3.0 flash drive is the fastest in the world of its kind. The flash drive boasts ultra-fast data transfer rates of up to 380 MB/s read and 325 MB/s write with rugged aluminum casing for additional durability and resistance. The Ventura Ultra drive utilizes USB 3.0 -- 10 times faster than USB 2.0 -- and is backwards compatible with legacy USB ports and devices.

Additionally, the Ventura Ultra is one of the few USB flash drives in the world to offer USB Attached SCSI Protocol support, which allows for command queuing in order to maximize the transfer rate potential.

"The Ventura Ultra will be fantastic for anyone with the data transfer rates it offers. It is the fastest USB flash drive that Mushkin has to offer, and is the fastest that the world can currently offer. The media and large file transfer capability is phenomenal -- anyone will be able to maximize its potential," said Nicolas Villalobos, Director, Global Marketing at Mushkin, Inc.

The Mushkin Ventura Ultra is available October 7th 2013 worldwide from authorized Mushkin resellers and distributors.

Which arm or leg is this gonna cost me?

What is this sorcery, SSD on a stick? Which controller does this thing use?

Sorry, but that looks crap, regardless of how fast it is...

Short Warranty

Warranty is only 2 years versus the Patriot Magnum's 5 years.

Youre only going to be transfering files over to it, not eating it. So long as its small and compact and holds a decent amount of porn who cares what it looks like?

Looks like they used cap from some other USB drive. They could at least made it the same shape and size as the rest of the case...

Exactly, it looks like it's made up out of rejected parts from other projects. Considering this thing is likely to cost $100+ you'd expect to see a product that looks like a retail ready device, not like something out of the spare parts cupboard.

Sandisk Extreme 64 GB costs here around 80$ , hopefully ventura ultra will not cross 175$.

Goes for most the bigger\time these get the lower the warranty, A lot used to be lifetime.

Sounds like TLC NANDs to me...

If they're using Sandforce then I'm amazed that it fits within the USB power spec. Max power has to be less than 2.5W in order to be backwards compatible with USB 2.0, and that's not common on Sandforce SSDs.

If you are correct, anyone thinking this will retail under $300 is crazy. After all, you are getting 256GB of NAND, a Sandforce SSD controller, and a SATA to USB 3.0 bridge all on a stick.

How many rounds does this clip hold?
