Hi All,

I am looking for buying a new Nvidia graphic card. I have a budget around RTX2060S and RTX3060 prices.
2060S has 8GB ram and 256bit
3060 has 12GB ram but 192bit

My motherboard is Asus Z87-A (a bit old)
CPU is Intel i7-4770 3.40GHz 4 Cores (a bit old)
My PSU is Cool Master Bronze GX 750W

Which one do you suggest me? By the way you can suggest me same tier another graphic card.

Thanks in Advance

Depends on the prices mainly. 3060 is a bit better overall, by a tiny amount tho. If you can spend a few more and get a 3060Ti or even a 3070, that would be a much better investment. Also, are you buying them new or used? Because if you buy used then in case of 2000 series the cards were around for longer and have higher chance of failure, just saying

Either should be just fine.

The 2060S is only about 5% behind the 3060.

Out of the two, I'd suggest taking these two things into consideration:

1) What is cost difference between the two cards?
2) Do you want a newer card or are you okay with a card that's already 3-4 years old?

Both perform about the same. If they're priced very close, I'd say go for the 3060. It's newer, will be supported longer and will have a warranty with it (unless you're buying it second hand, then the warranty may not be valid for it, depending on the model).

3060 is about 5% faster avg and uses 5-10% less power, so I would say price should decide.

if you plan on keeping the CPU the entire life of the GPU (which is fine) than get the cheaper one as you won't see a difference between the two. even with a modern CPU the difference would trivial in most games.

if i was buying new id go for the 3060s but if i was buying 2nd hand id go for a 2070 because i likely find one for the price of a new 3060s with most likely a bit of money left over. i brought a used 2080 last week for a customer for £365 and it was like brand new.

I got a brand new 3060Ti for £385 3 weeks ago, there are occasionally some really good new deals but maybe not in the OP's country.

The 256 vs 192 bit is irrelevant. You should compare actual bandwidth.
The 2060S has 448 GB/s VRAM, the 3060 has 360 GB/s VRAM.

The 3060 is faster overall, despite the bandwidth deficit.
In the same tier you can compare the AMD RX 6600 or 6600XT.

Where are you from so we can recommend for your country. Also what is you total budget, then we can go hunting for you! Also, have you considered AMD as they will outperform nvidia at possibly cheaper prices. As long as you aren't ray tracing.

RTX 3060 has ReBar support, AV1 decoding, 12GB vram (compared with 8GB), maybe better video encoder for streaming, i think faster Ray Tracing, and ~5% better performance (maybe 2-3% against a 2060S with higher power limit / good cooling).
i would go for RTX 3060 if the price its not more than 10-15% higher compared with 2060S.

Some card has OC (overclock) on their name title in markets. Is it the most important thing? Because OC ones are more pricey

You can OC yourself even its not an OC marketed card (mostly you have to undervolt it with curve editor for better performance) , what is more important is the power limit (some cards are capped at 100% so you cant get too much extra performance with OC, edit: cooling is also important when OC)

OC cards usually come with better cooling. but you can overclock any card yourself. you may be living in a cold town or be using liquid cooling, so you shouldn't be paying extra for OC cards. cuz you can OC your card by Afterburner software.

AMD gives better price for performance and uses less electricity and comes with more memory.
I wouldn't pick an nvidia just for ray-tracing if you're aiming for a 3060. ray-tracing would make sense on a stronger card, but in your case you better pick an AMD card.

All Xbox and Play-Station consoles use AMD cards.

At 1440p DLSS or 1080p you can use ray-tracing "medium" and ultra details in some games like f1 2022 , World of Warcraft etc.. (if you dont want very high FPS), they work just fine on my 2060S (75+ fps) and other advantage with Nvidia i would say is DLSS and Nvidia Reflex + good video encoder if you want to stream on twitch.
Edit: The cons of Nvidia GPUs are the PRICE and power consumption , but 2060s / 3060 => 150-200W , not that extreme.

ARC GPUs have bugs in many games (some older games arent even working) so its a risk, the value and performance are very good when it works.

If you don't care about RayTracing in this price range or a specific application that prefers Nvidia or CUDA or something Nvidia exclusive, check AMD's options. You'll probably get better performance in games.
If you have to choose between 2060S and 3060, considering that they are very close in performance, always go with the newest architecture.
Forget Intel for now. And wait November 3rd to see what AMD will announce. While they probably wouldn't announce something cheaper than $800, who knows. If they do, we might see another price drop in AMD's cards. I doubt Nvidia will lower it's prices. People just buy no matter the premium over MSRP.

So, the choice is between Radeon RX 6650 XT and Intel Arc A770.
From your video link it's quite visible that the Arc A770 is the faster than RTX 3060, and even when the FPS is about the same, the RTX 3060 stutters, while the A770 is silky smooth.

Forget the ngreedia's RTX 3060. Don't buy it.

If they're on the same price, then 3060 because of the extra VRAM. If they're on different prices, then the one that is cheaper.

The thing about VRAM. The GPU and its shaders are too slow to make use of so much VRAM. You get the bottleneck in the shaders long before the VRAM limit is reached.

How do you see RTX 3080 with 10 GB and RTX 3060 with 12 GB? Doesn't make sense, right?
