It can't go over 90. that's a max
It can on motherboards that ignore stock temperature limits or if you overclock, and if your cooler is weak or not properly mounted.

You were expecting more or less than 100W?
It is after all a ~140W CPU
Honestly I don't know but I think less although like you say it can draw that much or even higher. With the Euro Truck it was pulling 55watts. Kinda like my old 2700X

What I meant was more like it should not go over 90c but It can obviously. Besides when the CPU temp is 90c it will clock down not to go above.

I think its not right to compare a CPU based test and real gaming. Sorry... 55W was the 2700X or 5800X? And it was avg or max the 55W.
50~60W on gaming for the level of performance it offers is not that much. My R5 3600 is at least on par at gaming with 2700X and it draws a little less than 50W (by avg.)

All can go beyond 90C if not set properly in BIOS.

I know what you mean and I agree but nonetheless it is still some sort of information. Both of them were around 55W in a game and yeah, the performance was incredible. I didn't even realize that this CPU can be so much better over my 2700x in Euro truck sim2 at 4K. I was really surprised.

I know the game very well as I have way over 1000hours on it. It really counts what CPU you have besides GPU.
I was astound when I switch to R5 3600 from my old FX-8370.

What is impressive is that you saw big difference in 4K where the CPU counts much less!

I know. I was really skeptic about this change would improve anything and yet I was astounded by the difference. It's really nice to see that this change is a game changer for me.
