New Outlook

The web browser version is just as bad, imo. I was actually talking about that in my post above.

Edit: I also forgot to add, if you have multiple accounts (like a personal and a work one), switching between the two is an absolute nightmare.

Edit 2: This looks absolutely disgusting.

I should have mentioned I am a very basic user, I literally only check email and send reply emails for my work, no calendar use, etc. So, I 100% understand some of you need to use the app.

I deleted it the minute it told me that Cloud storage was full. I don't need my emails stored remotely.

Rolling your own mail server is pretty hardcore man.

Like I said, I do not use the app. The browser-based version is just as bad.

Linux Mint 22 has thunderbird built into it, I haven't decided yet if I am going to give that a go yet. It might be worth plugging in my logins for work though and just giving it a whirl.

This is the "app" called "New Outlook." It's really more like a PWA though.

No, this is where MS is taking Outlook, I'm afraid. I'm using it on a corporate machine, and I believe NO is now deployed as the default option for user accounts. While you can revert to "Classic Outlook," I can say most of my workplace is now using New Outlook at this point, as I heard a lot of groaning when this runaway memory issue was going on this past week.
The outlook I am using isnt included with windows at all, its part of Office. What isnt helping matters is Microsoft use the Outlook name for 2 different apps and its web email.

Yeah, I think the version of Outlook I'm referring to is part of Office, as Classic Outlook has a toggle to "Try New Outlook," and doing so will instantly launch New Outlook and make it your default email client. If you don't have Classic Outlook pinned somewhere, it disappears into the background, but it still is accessible. I guess MS knew the new app was going to be a mess to start with, so they left you "Opt in" to start, and you can still Opt Out. I suspect eventually CO will get taken behind the barn, as it's also a mess of an app (due to its long lifespan and feature additions over time) that I'm sure MS doesn't want to keep cobbling it together.

I left so much negative feedback about new outlook when I tried it. The number 1 is sometimes I need to read my mail or look at something with no network connection. I tried to launch it after disconnecting and it just straight up said it failed to load. I was like nah, not for me.

I use classic outlook thats part of office. If they eventually take CO outback I'll just grab thunderbird. The facelift (whatever its code name is) was a massive MASSIVE step forward for Tbird.

This is how my UI currently looks. Although in recent times I have been using IMAP much more either via phone or browser, hence the lack of local copies since August. Looks like I have no "try new outlook" option anywhere by looking around the interface.

I've never had cloud storage related to "new outlook" is that only if you have One Drive on?
I disabled that on my desktop.
One Drive is disabled for me too.
