I had to spend more money for intel
1st gen RYZEN came out just after Kaby Lake and that's pretty much the reason why we've got the 6C12T 8700K (Intel's first mainstream 6 cores 12 threads processor), all in the same year!
In 2019, we've got ZEN2 and that made Intel release Comet Lake with Hyper-Threading enabled all the way to the Core i3 class, the year after.
Then came the X3D technology and it has been smooth sailing for AMD ever since. The 5800X3D has disrupted the 12900K position as their performance is similar. And with the 7800X3D, no matter the wattage and no matter the temperature, Intel still hasn't got any response regarding the ZEN4X3D offering by AMD!
So if you value your money, please wait for ZEN5X3D parts to become available first, compare that to Intel Arrow Lake (aka 15th gen unofficially) offerings, and then decide on the purchase.
And I do hope that Intel comes out ahead with Arrow Lake, for competition's sake.
We need competition to drive innovation and for better prices.
