If AMD has a market share of 12%, but only 7% of people want more VRAM, it tells me that the concept of AMD being "shitty cards with more VRAM" doesn't hold.

But in general, I don't think people voting for VRAM in this poll and buying AMD has much correlation, if any at all.
That's not how this works.
I want prices to go a lot lower more than I want more vram.
That doesn't mean at all that I don't care about more vram, I do want more vram.
I'm fine if the 5090 were to come with 128GB GDDR8, that would justify the price tag it's going to get.

That's not how this works.

I agree, but this doesn't have much to do with my post, or the one I replied to.

Prices are horrible these days, and I want them to come down to sensible levels myself. There is no more crypto craze, and AI doesn't concern home users much, if at all, so there's no sense in keeping prices high.

I chose energy efficiency because I don't want a space heater in my rig. In my humble opinion, anything over 250w is just white noise. Ideally sub 200w for 2x my current card is what I'm looking for.

And not for the price of a kidney...
