Its about time someone came up with a PSU with a fan at the top and bottom so the PSU can be mounted facing up or down. Just a suggestion. Either way, im bored with PSU's, they all look dull and the same. Seen one PSU, you seen them all.

Colour coding the cables and where you plug them in is very wise, especially when different rails carry different power.

Doesn't leave much space for internal components of the power supply, would it? Power supplies with 80mm exhaust fans can already be flipped without any problems.

Nexus sells some decent fans. I hope this new power supply will be representative of their 'silent' approach to computing.

I believe this falls in the realm of physical impossibility in regards to the layout inside a psu.

You need to have a circuit board with all the power components on it. It needs to have heatsinks attached to the head producing bits which are in turn cooled by a fan. You can only have these heatsinks effectively attached to one side.

It's rather difficult for me to explain, but there just isn't room to put a fan on each side and then somehow cram and mount an effectively cooled circuit board somewhere in between.

A much better idea would be to have mounting holes that allow it to be mounted in either orientation.

this is no different then any other power supply... any psu can be facing up or down..
I also can guarantee Nexus doesn't make this psu.

99% of the time, the true combined amperage of 12v rails is not the sum of the individual rails. Usually, it goes something like:

+12v 1 @ 20A
+12v 2 @ 20A
Combined +12v @ 32A

Basically, if the first rail's components ask for more than 20A, the PSU shuts down, same with the second, and if the two combined reach anything above 35, the PSU shuts down as well.

I wish more manufacturers would list the combined max amperage for the +12v rails :shadedshu

Looks nice, like those yellow plugs and god job on cables. Just doesn't have 8pin PCI-E plugs straight from the PSU. Seems weird for a new PSU, but probably has 6+2pin jumper cable ends.

My PSU is mounted fan facing up (on top). I have holes in the top parts of side panels so it can suck cooler air there. Case allows to mount the PSU both ways, no need to have double fans.

I understand that at the present what i requested is not possible, i was just saying that its about time it was. Im sure the PSU technology is shrinkable, and its cooling system can be refined.

I dont mind cutting holes into my cases, its part of the fun of owning a rig. At the moment im using the Thermaltake 1500w in the Antec900 and if i want the cables to come out of the side closest to the holes i cut into the backplate for cable management then my fan faces the floor, needing a nice hole at the bottom of the case to breathe. Same would apply for this Nexus.

The cable management design is pretty standard.

Looking at your rigs specs you seem to have a lot of very nice hardware in a relatively small, budget case.

After seeing the i7 965 I was kind of expecting something a bit more high class than a 900...
