Accelero S2 by Arctic Cooling - Noiseless passive dual heatpipes graphic card cooler

The Swiss cooling solution provider - ARCTIC COOLING introduces a radically new passive cooling solution for main stream graphic cards. Without moving parts inside, Accelero S2 effectively helps the graphic card to remove heat and silently keeps the components cool. Thanks to the elegant design, Accelero S2 can even outperform other active cooling solutions, bringing a true industrial leading zero noise solution for demanding users.

Radically new optimized passive design
To provide the ultimate heat conductivity and larger surface area, Accelero S2 features dual thick copper heatpipes which extend directly from GPU core. Heat from the GPU can rapidly reach through 31 dissipating fins that extend beyond the height of the graphic card. Optimized fin design allows air flow to easily pass through and removes the heat effectively. Together with the bundled RAM heatsinks, Accelero S2 provides an all-round passive solution that achieves the best cooling performance.

Practical zero noise solution
Install and forget about it - No moving parts means maintenance free. An extra pair of mounting clips provides extensive protection to the graphic card that prevents damage from improper handling. With the help of the new mounting design, Accelero S2 is widely compatible with ATI (Radeon X1650, X1600, X1550, X1300, X1050, X850, X800, X700, X600, X550, X300 and 9XXX series) and nVIDIA (GeForce 7600, 7300, 6600, FX 5950, FX 5900, FX 5700 (Ultra), FX 5600, FX 5500, FX 5200, 4 TI and MX series) graphic cards.

Accelero S2 will be available by end of March 2007. The MSRP is USD 22 and Euro 18 (excl VAT).

Wow that looks big. Bet it works great. If only you could mount a fan for extra cooling.

You can - get yourself a few lacing cords and the fan and there you go! ;-)

What is this "Turbo Module" they speak of? I assume it is some kind of low noise fan since it does increase the noise rating slightly and the only thing I can think of that would do that is a fan.

Edit- Yep, it seems the Turbo Module is exactly that, a fan.

No pictures of it though.

doesnt that look like the heatsink on the passive club 3d x1950pro???

It still looks ugly though.

I don't know if I would trust that on something that gets as hot as an X850 does....

it is the club3d x1950pro passive cooling ;)
i can run my x1800gto passive with a hr-03 and it's a smaller cooler

The one one on the club3d card is the S1, with 4 heatpipes, this is the S2, for lower end cards.
