These prices aren't as bad as I thought, still 2000usd for a 5090 is very meh and for 1000usd the 5080 is still a 256bit bus card...

The perf improvement, that Nvidia is showing in their graph, is... meh as well. I am not impressed, especially since they compare it only against the awfull (except the 4090) first batch of the 4000 serie cards and not the much better (but still just OK tbh) SUPER refresh...

I miss the Nvidia of the past, before that whole RTX "revolution". One more year, one more generation that is meh as F.

I also saw in a video that the MFG of DLSS4 is a driver toogle. So I can get that basically now on AMD if I enable FSR3.1 in game FG and add AFMF in the driver
Don't get me wrong, it will look shitty but to be honest only thing AMD needs to compete with this is their improved FSR4 image scaler and then just combine FSR FG with AFMF.
Then they can claim that 9070XT is 2X faster than 7900XTX.
I'm dissapointed in both presentations, but hey at least Nvidia actually presented some GPUs.

Lmao if you go on their product page and click on the "Specs" tab they don't even list the number of shaders like they used to, instead it's "AI TOPS". Oh brother.

Edit to remove how I've allowed myself to respond in kind. It turns out, if you look a bit deeper, the full specs are indeed there.

You have to click on the compare button to get to it, they really don't have much to talk about in their marketing outside of a billion trillion AI flipflops per nano second.

Lmao with the AMD presentation, they completely bailed out of even showing the 9070XT at all! Oh brother...
Why bring up AMD again? Yes, we're all disappointed that we didn't get any info. There's no need for this whatabautism, though. AMD's useless presentation doesn't make Nvidia's hiding facts better.

Honestly it makes more sense now they probably caught wind of the better than expected pricing and DLSS4 and said well shit..... They probably were gonna price the 9070 at 600 usd is my guess and bailed.... It's weird that there are fully done cards at CES from all vendors and nothing but FSR4 is limited to RDNA4.

Yes, because they are AI company now. The Geforce cards were actually the shortest part of that whole keynote.
That's why we don't see major improvements in the pure performance itself. Their main selling point is GB100 for the enterprise, then whatever is left is put into Geforce. Add some new DLSS features on top and claim that 5070 is 2X as fast as 4090.
I mean since everybody is first to compare with AMD, they have done the same but with a different focus. It's AI MAX Plus Pro Ryzen for them and compete with Apple. They for now have given up on nvidia.

But who buys all this AI crap anyway? I mean, data centres, for sure, but why would you buy a 5070 for a data centre, for example? It's not the right product, not the right marketing.

Because it's relevant and I do what I want.
It's irrelevant, and in that case, I do what I want, too, even if you think it's boring.

No clue why many of you keep peddling this, but no they weren't, the 9070 XT has 4096 shaders, it was obvious it was never intend to be priced like that.

Just noticed the CP2077 shows 2X improvement for the 5080 and once you subtract the 90-95% from the extra interpolated frames there's almost nothing left lol.

5070ti seems like it might be the best out of the cheaper 3 and the 5090 is going to sell out even if it's only 20% faster due to the vram and being the fastest gpu ever made.....

I mean AMD only needs to beat the 5070 at a decent price shouldn't be hard but my guess is it's $499 and about the same with worse RT, but more vram so basically nothing has changed other than the 70 class getting slightly cheaper or the same price I should say the vanilla 4070 is 550 already I believe.

I mean but 5070 is ballpark 4070ti with a price cut, 5070ti is 4080 ball park with a price cut, and the 5080 is 10-15% slower than the 4090 at the same price as the super.... Is my guess. That is pretty much a minimal effort lineup but Nvidia smartly leaked stupid pricing and now they all look pretty good.

No clue why many of you keep peddling this, but no they weren't, the 9070 XT has 4096 shaders, it was obvious it was never intend to be priced like that.

They charged $500 for a N5 200mm GCD with 4 N6 MCD..... That was supposed to bring cost down... Allegedly this is N4 monolithic. So it costing more to product is a possibility. I can't keep track of wafer cost at TSMC but last I checked they were not getting cheaper.

They know how it performs though and didn't show jack even $499 might be too high now if it just performs like a 5070..... Either way a major gpu launch that people are excited about and they don't have time even though the press was briefed on the cards..... Is weird...

I know, for many of you even free would be too much, if possible they should actually give you money when you buy one.

Gamers, gamers will buy them. Because Nvidia has entered a mainstream mindshare market as the one to buy if you want to game on a PC.

To be honest AMD should be happy, Nvidia has mostly focused on software part. By that I mean they didn't improved raw performance by much. It's not like 5080 suddenly has 17000 cuda cores and is a MCM design with 24GB of VRAM and costs 899.
AMD is more than capable in hardware as being shown in their Instinct GPUs.
They will go the same route as Nvidia with UDNA. So make a buck on Instinct cards for data centers and whatever is left is put on APUs and Radeons with one arch being UDNA.
Just needs more time as their main focus is ROCm so that it can actually compete with CUDA.

Oh I personally don't care how they price it but if it's just more of the same at a slight discount we all know how that story ends....

It's just the buzz word right now everyone want's AI people with Iphones and galaxy think a random program telling you a joke is AI. Bottom line though Nvidia makes an insane amount of money and they bet on it and it's paid off and now everyone else is playing catch up.... We can hate all we want but they are killing it so much so that there are a ton of people super happy with the 50 series announcement and they didn't show shit.... Just a singular apples to apples benchmark..... ALL because the 3 cheapest cards are affordable and that likely means the 5060ti and 5060 will be priced ok the cards probably 80-90% of people care about especially those 20 series people or the 10 series people still hanging on to their cards....

Ah so my point is irrelevant. Sure, then, have it your way, everything AMD does is fantastic, the 9070XT is amazing and pulling out of the presentation is not a bad thing because AMD is pulling a 4D chess move. Better?

The only thing we do know is that it wasn't going to be $399 because if it was they would have announced it and did a mic drop on nvidia..... lol.

I'm just here for the fancy new jacket, Jensen's rocking that crocodile vibe, ready to devour his buyers whole. But when it comes to real facts and benchmarks, only @W1zzard in his wizard robe delivers the true magic.

I bought a 4090 because if I wanted that performance it was my only option..... I likely won't be buying a 5090 though..... I got the 6090 pre ordered though in my mind anyways we will see if my better half blocks that lol.....
