Hah. It's a little early for this, don't you think?

I have pretty much all the 8-series cards - 8400 GS, 8600 GT, 8800 GS, 8800 GT, 8800 GTS 640, 8800 GTS 320, 8800 GTS 512.

But they're either Folding or supporting my Triple monitor setup.

In a few years when 5,500 PPD is absolutely worthless, I probably will do what you are doing.

Although.. I do happen to have a spare 8800 GTS 640. I received it recently and haven't gotten to fixing it yet. It boots up, but the picture is heavily artifacted. If I fail in fixing it, I was thinking of trying to sell it on eBay..

Now that is kind of a neat idea 3volved!

the only 8000 series of cards that I have, is an 8600GTS fanless Gigabyte, that is in my wife's system, and I am pretty sure I would get my ball cut off for taking that out:roll::roll::roll:

See if its not fixable, and you dont get any buyers on ebay, just send it to me:)

The thing is, I couldnt imagine people buying broken cards on ebay for even 40-30 dollars on luck.

I just want them with the heatsink, Yes it is a little early but if your card works, and you fold keep it, i say keep it!!! and fold for TPU :) I just want the retired, unfixable, but just looking kinda good cards that i can use as a collection :)

You bet I will! Team 50711 FTW!

In any case, my card might not appeal to you. The heatsink's plastic cover has been removed leaving only the metallic fins and the fan. It doesn't look rack-worthy, I'm afraid.

Good luck with the idea. Hope to see pictures some day!

I might still consider it, Because i know what im asking is very extreme for people, because they always want to get money out of everything. But hey thanks for the hope :)

Hey, don't mention it. I don't mind shelfing out a card at the moment.

Right now I'm into getting my CPU's past the clocks in your sig :D I think 4.5Ghz on an E5300 on Air is the most exciting.

haahahahaha, my e5200 could have done 5.0Ghz with some tweaking, but i sold it before 2.0volts hit it :D

***EDIT*** No one else has any and dead 8000 series cards they want to give up on, and that are unfixable to ship to me :D

I've got an 8600GT, 8800GT, and two 8800GTS 512MB cards, but like Weer, they are all for folding! Well actually the 8600GT isn't doing anything, as it's not good for much anyway. I would give it to you if I didn't need to recoup what I can of its cost!

Is it not folding because you ran out of slots?

You could give it to me. It would work nicely, folding in my HTPC. The G45 board is locked to PCIe x4, so I'm using onboard for now, which is a waste because its PSU can handle a GTX 280.

Sorry to thread jack..

Nope that wouldnt work for a 8000 series collection.....

No one has never really gotten a hole collection of a series of video cards, and i want to do that, but it looks like i might need to go to the flea bay for 40 dollar non working cards, with shipping charges....

I should make a thread dedicated to my idea, and have people help out with all the cards, then ill take pictures of the WHOLE set of cards and post all over the net. Once its completed though.....

And Bump :D
