The way I see it, a vocal minority are jumping up and down for this (as well as AMD users citing it as a reason they don't / won't use Nv - though I suspect those same people will find/take issue with it anyway), so they have the option now, no login, modern UI, seems to work a little faster than NVCP. Knock yourselves out.
I have an AMD 6750xt. The adrenaline software is fantastic. I regularly use the built in overlay and built in overclocking. The ability to set per game overclocking profiles is amazing.

I am upgrading to a 4080 super. I wish Nvidia had something comparable to Adrenaline. This new Nvidia app isn't it. It lacks the core functionality I enjoy in Adrenaline. With Nvidia I now have to install multiple apps. I still haven't found a way to do per game overclock profiles with Nvidia.

It's absolutely feature rich I agree! Visually however, I just can't bring myself to like it or enjoy using it, quite the opposite. And so far from what I've seen with the Nvidia app it's the same, and it lacks things some users might desire. To each their own though, so enjoy :toast:

Now that I have the 4080 super installed and have become fully acquainted with the software necessary for Nvidia, I miss Adrenaline. I need the Nvidia App, Nvidia Control Panel, and MSI Afterburner to replicate some of the features of the AMD Adrenaline app. I shouldn't have to install three different applications that don't even have feature parity with AMD Adrenaline.

For me, I just install the driver, no GFE or anything like that, and my overclocking software. I use the built in FPS monitor in steam, and bobs ur uncle.

If you are staring at an overlay while playing a game, are you really a gamer, or a game bench marker.

Never used any of those "optimizations", never used GF Experience, never will use this.

If it works, why it has to be broken?

Haven't used newer Intel graphics than HD 4600, but AMD's software is surprisingly fine after getting used to its layout and amount of options.
Imho, a driver's control panel should not use any toolkit other than Windows APIs. It simply doesn't to. And using Windows' API just means it can actually blend-in with the other settings.

I agree with this to a point as long as ALL of the fine-grained controls are present.

It's all knobs and buttons and sliders. Maybe with an occasional render (i.e. image, possibly animated) of an effect. You could probably do all that using Windows 95 API.

But yeah, it's a control panel, it's all about function. Or at least it's supposed to be.

I can't believe it took me so long to find the MSI AB / RTSS overlay on/off hotkey setting, it's the best of both worlds for me. I can get very granular detailed monitoring of clocks, temps, memory, performance etc and just as easily entirely hide it for the majority of the actual gaming session

Yeah, I am using the overlay in non-steam games.
