This is what's making it tough to even discuss these kinds of Technology Happenings
-it's all directly-entwined with 'politics'.

IMO, It's only going to get worse on the AI/MI front. It's been made clear that, "National(ized) AI" systems are not just coming, they're openly being courted.
Not to mention the seemingly-verboten topic of the US politik influencing court outcomes in legal battles of AI/MI-centric IPs.

Seems like every 'big player' (old and new, alike) is lobbying and jockeying for position and favored status by whatever Authorities are involved.

A lot of us called this early on and some peeps accused us of wearing tinfoil hats. Next thing you know Google pulls its bs with Google Gemini and now the lawsuits are off the hook.

And there's no stoping it, Nvidia and other makers will make sure to scare governments that they will fall behind to Stone Age if they don't immediately invest large propotions of their budgets into AI, in all sectors. And if they won't convince them with facts, well, there are always envelopes of cash...

Very soon the internet will be entirely controlled by AI to the point that all content will be scrambled so badly that humans will no longer take part in it and it will become simply the communication infrastructure for the sentient AI that takes over.

If you have nothing to gain from it you would no longer pay for an internet subscription.
just like me and a lot of other have stopped watching movies and tv as nothing on there is made for us.

i can see people buying a curated “ai” to run locally like we used to buy a britanica as everything connected is just unreliable.

having the private sector pick up the cost for the initial development of this mess does sound like the best thing, at this point the next generation is out before you have had a chance to get your order up and running

Unfortunately humans still have the same mentality as thousands of years ago. Still tribal. Still fighting over land, resources, religion or just for the sake of ego ( Pootin). AI will be used for control of population and finding more effective ways to kill people.

Can't help it, the basic programming is the same as ever. If you go deep enough, every living thing on this earth has the same basics.
