Would be nice if this drives the regular 2080 down to 500gbp. Im surprised nvidia even bothered to release it, unless they know something from AMD is imminent.

Nvidia just made sure the gap between 2070 and 2080 remains. Unfortunately for you, the 2080 is discontinued, you should be looking for clearance sales if you want to snatch one.
