Total power consumption for a high end home PC goes to dangerous limits.

For an average European house a typical fuse limit, as well as cabling is 16 Amps.

16 Amp x 220 = 3520 Watts but with %80 conversion efficiency the unit can give 2933 Watts from the unit. But, for long term use at this power value causes cable heating. The cable thickness must be at minimum 3x2mm.

A 3000 Watt power unit will possibly the normal maximum. Say farewell to SLI soon, which is already near dead. A two socket mainboard is a waste for homes, many programs can not take gain from multi CPU systems, mainly because of program issue.

So this new GPU connector will not be the last seemingly, there is still headroom for a stronger power cabling in the future from the box....

I for one would have welcomed even 12 GB on this 3070 but it is what it is.

I hope the 4070 and above finally start getting 12 GB+ of VRAM because, good God Nvidia.

If only I had a 1080 Ti which was my dream card. I wouldn't have cared for RTX 30 and still kept it to this day, provided it wouldn't have died.

Because those GPUs are the top dogs, or the "perfect yields", if you prefer. Those yields are possibly even less than 1% of total yields. The rest, the ones that have faulty transistors are made into 3090, 3080, 3070 GPUs, etc

That aside, yes, I think most people would rather like for Nvidia to use their available capacity to make more 3070s than 3090s

Far cry 6, in techspot's newest test, suffers from noticeable stuttering on the 3070 due to VRAM limitations. DOOM on ultimate nightmare also needs more then the 3070 can provide.

Exactly, the raw performance is there but being held back by the lack of VRAM.
