I commented on my status about this the other day. The only difference with bta's article is the majority of 1060's with more than a single fan (that were still actually not sold out) were north of $350, some closer to $400. And those weren't Marketplace sellers either.

At least on my main rig my 980Ti is holding up perfectly, and likely will for me a couple more years.

they are higher than they were a couple of months back i am expecting them to go higher still.. what i paid £400 for a couple of months back would cost £450.. i am talking about what is readily available to buy.. not fake pre-order prices..

I bought a PowerColor RX Vega 64 a couple months ago for $489.99, yes, $489.99 (at a local MicroCenter). I traded it to a local guy for a brand new 1080 Ti, a straight trade, thinking I got a heck of a deal (considering i'm not into mining even the slightest bit). This fella had then acquired his 6th RX Vega 64 and was planning to purchase 4 more so he could have 10 Vega 64's mining. I now regret not keeping it and selling it on eBay.

Lol, you have to be insane to buy 1070Ti for that money. That's how much I paid for my beefed up AORUS 1080Ti lol. I guess I made the right decision to snap a new graphic card in summer 2017...

Quite honestly, I was considering flipping my Vega 64 for a 1070 Ti ...sell the Vega 64 for $900+ and buy a 1070 Ti for $500. That ain't happening now.

Price hikes like this due to low availability makes me kind of wonder about those folks that do have cards that crap on them, if the manufacturers can replace/repair the cards in a timely fashion....

Makes me glad I have two 980Ti cards. If one does happen to kick the bucket, I still have a spare to fall back on.....then again, I see the price of used ones on ebay have gone up by around $50 since I last looked 5-6 months back. 980Ti cards are easily hitting $400 prices (some more, some less, depending on the card).

So, either folks are hard up for a decent gaming GPU since an equivalent card (1070) are more than twice the cost or these are just cheaper, decent mining GPUs that folks can still get their hands on.

Good on you. I bought the Aorus 1080Ti Waterforce Extreme the day after it launched on NewEgg. This was at the time when 1080s were soaring in price and Gigabyte does a horrible job announcing launches, so my win. It's the best card ever to drive my 43" 4K monitor (60hz). Battlefield 1, full ultra runs between 60 and 100FPS, same for Battlefront II.

Thank god I got my MSI 1080 11Gbps last October when the retailer was offering a discount. It was slightly over £500. If future performance segment cards are all $900+ (that's like £800+), I'll keep whatever I have now for as long as I can.

Wonder if it's time to sell on my RX 480's, I just hope that my 1070 that I had a year or so ago, will hopefully stand the test of time well... There I was thinking of a 1080 Ti at some point.. I have 13 GPUs running 24-7 (3 1080ti's, 7 1080's, and 7 1060's) and my power bill is ~$60 more a month. What are you talking about? I mine more than that in a day. For techies, some of you aren't too keen on maths.

I don't think we can count on them locking them out of mining. After all, when nVidia locked Geforce out of data centers the sole exception they left was for mining.

Yep. And honestly, that sucks for everyone. Differentiation of future product lines would be one of the best ways to solve this crisis.
