I'm running the panel at a higher resolution (and lower refresh rate, due to bandwidth limits), then adding the software upscaling on top.

Yes. it hurts brains, but the panel supports it.

Anyone really play with the DLDSR much?

I looked around Divinity:OS2 using it on native (1440p) and then on 2.25 (3840x2160). I'm not really sure I see much of a difference to bother using it, at least not in this game. Here are a few comparison shots:

Some games benefit more than others

Starcraft II: massive, godly improvement.
7 days to die: barely see any change at all (no FPS loss, at least)

My early view is, the worse the stock anti aliasing was, the better an improvement you'll see. Super fine details like tiny text may become illegible - my FPS counter was a little hard to read at "6k"

I use MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner Statistics Server for my overlay, it has nice scaling and zoom options, because yeah everything became so small even squinting didn't help lol

Fun and weird bug

Moved my PC to the living room (from displayport 4k 80hz display) to UHDTV (HDMI 4K 60hz)

And now the exact same games cannot see the custom resolutions?


edit: oh i get it, this TV adds a stupid extra res of 4092x2160 and the stupid custom res is basing off THAT, in the wrong aspect ratio. I'll have to use CRU to remove that res.

Update/edit: had to remove 4092x2160 using CRU, had three refresh rate options

Once removed the new special resolutions changed to be based off 3840x2160 (meaning, 16:9) and tada, fussy ass games could see them

Sc2 didn’t even have antialiasing as an option for years. Perfect for over rendering with fast cards nowadays

You can take 1440p and shove it somewhere. Seriously when the 10 series came out 4k was the thing. Then Nvidia backtracked to 1440p. Totally sad I jumped on the 4k gaming and then got screwed in the end by nvidia. Also I get a good laugh when people say certain games do not support SLI. Yes maybe in the game it's not supported but in the driver it is. I never set game settings for SLI I do it on the driver side. I play like 3 games that say no support for SLI yet if I check the SLI indicator and the GPU in W10 it shows both being used and peaking 100% both GPU's so guess what SLI works. I know this because I have been doing SLI since my Orginial Diamond Monster Voodoo 2's in SLI. I remember playing Quake 3 arena on those babies and had better FPS then the newer single card Voodoo 3's.


Also in Canada the 3090TI is 3,261.99. Price tag. You can buy a used card under that easy.

You have clearly deluded yourself if you are actually insane enough to claim that SLI is a viable option at this point and that people should look to it. You are flat out full of crap acting like there aren't games that have zero support for multi GPU as that is 100% fact. Not only that even in the games that do support it there are a laughable amount of issues and tons of games including flickering and certain settings that won't work properly and stuttering. It is just hilarious that someone would be stupid enough to promote SLI in 2022.
