NVIDIA to Re-introduce GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 SUPER GPUs

Paying 300/400€ (370/490$) or more for 2060/S is stupid imho. Just get 4 gigs RX 580 for 90€ on 2nd hand market if you need GPU now and wait for ETH price to collapse. There will be plenty of 3060TIs, 3070s and 3080s to choose from on 2nd hand market for the price of 2060/S when it happens.
Completely agree if you can find one for that price. However here In the US they are going for $200+ used.

First of all, some of you are not as smart as you are fanboyish. You keep going on about scalpers, but when something happens to, even slightly, limit scalping you scream "ngredia" like little children with an intellectual deficit. Anything entering the official supply chain limits the amount of potential buyers for scalpers, simply by giving consumers a "good enough for now" official alternative. The supply chain will probably pick up in the next quarter or two, which gives scalpers less and less wiggle room which, in turn, reduces the incentive for this kind of activity - remember, graphics cards are not cheap, so even if you sit on a box of them, they probably won't move fast. Unless you find a miner who will buy everything you have, which is another matter. But, since the 2060 is useless for mining, it's still in the "good enough official alternative" category.

I would like to announce I will be re-introducing my evga 7600GT and Asus 9800GT to the market at their original launch prices as well.

Same here where I live.

Used years old cards cost more/or the same now on the second hand market than their launch prices.

There are 8GB RX 580s going for as high as 330$, don't even talk about 1660 supers or the 5000 serie AMDs. 'again this is on one of the biggest second hand market in my country'
4GB models also increased in price actually, they cost more than what I paid for my 570 in late 2018.

Also 2060 never went lower than 400$ in my country, brand new and not the crappiest single fan models so I can't even hope for these re relased versions to be any better regarding pricing.

Heres hoping that my RX 570 '3 years old already' wont die on me while this crap is on going else I might just end up with a potato card to play indie/freebie games or stuck with my phone. 'cause I'm refusing to pay these prices atm'

They can afford to do this. Like they need more money. :D

I believe nvidia cut production levels to move Turing cards out of stock to prepare for Ampere cards release and now that scalpers are holding Ampere hostage, nvidia can quietly make Turing cards and flood the market with them which leaves the scalpers scrambling to lower prices (they have real money invested in these cards) if everyone starts buying Turing cards instead of paying the ransom for the latest and greatest. It might be considered an anti scalper move for nvidia as the previous gen cards are still plenty powerful for gaming.
I wouldn’t give them that much credit. I think it boils down to Profit margins are going to be much higher on the 2060s, they are having trouble suppling enough 3000 series cards.. and added bonus folks buying these 2060s as a stop gap will then upgrade to a 3000 series down the road once they are more available. It’s a win, win win.

No you misunderstand. In 2021 every day is a fools day. Its a trend we started in 2020.
I am going to tattoo this on my forehead and a benji on my foreskin and ask all the fools to blow a hundy in tribute to your brilliance.

For what I just sold a GTX 1080 for on ebay, Nvidia would be dumb not to sell these.

Well when you are releasing unicorns you might as well sell what you actually have.
Shame Samsung can't match the need though.

And it's still over 2 months to April Fool's day... what the hell Nvidia, the prices are similar as they already were?

In the grand scheme of things... why not? Make it, and they will come.

It's not like some AMD RX 6X00 card is going to undercut them in the next six months after all

Hi,
Really need a Rumors section
Pointless release at best.

So first the "new" soundblaster card, now this..
Whats next, are intel gonna re release some old ddr3 chipsets and cpu's?

First of all, a publicly traded company cannot get away with what you are suggesting because it upsets the balance of things too much. They can ask for a bit more but if they ask for too much then they can draw the ire of shareholders who, are looking for gain, but not massive gain that will get the company slapped with fines. Publicly traded companies generally can’t do whatever they want, small business can get away with a lot more. There are plenty of unscrupulous individuals that lead small businesses. There are processes for large companies and those processes don’t include price gouging. The end retailer is likely the one profiting from higher prices more than the manufacturer.

Holding out for fresh 1080 Ti stock.

I must admit that reheated day old food that's been left outside the fridge and is starting to curl at the edges tastes delicious! :D So too will these...

Well any cards are better than no cards, which is what there is now.
Not an issue I'm seeing locally. Sure, you're not going to be able to get the base model of any card, but there's no shortage of mid to high-end models, except for the 3080.

Where are you located, Sweden?

Over here the stock is comprised of some GT 710s, 730s and 1030s, a few 1060, 1660 Super and 1660 Ti around 300€ (lol). And quadros. There were a few 6800/6800XTs from Sapphire yesterday, but very inflated as well.

Everything is inflated in these corona days. The important thing is to keep the money flow going. :wtf:

Intel has already been doing it with their CPUs for the last I don't know how many years; they seem to like 14nm - a lot.

I got a 1080ti since a couple of years and it works really well on most games I play. I will never use RT even if I had a 4080ti so no point upgrading for now. I am waiting to see what the 40xx or 50xx series will bring to the table. I fond it a non sens to not make high end GPU without RT, it would provide more space for actual usefull compute power for people that dont want to use RT (which is the vaste majority). Its the same problem with Intel and their cpu that waste space on igup.

Gonna wait until this industry really need my money.

I can't say I buy a word of this, I think VC is getting trolled big-time. Dedicating supply chains to 2060s seems a deeply foolish move in this climate and on top of that surely only the most desperate of people would actually buy these. Think about it: would you pay €400 for an RTX 2060S now or would you rather wait and pay €400 for an RTX 3060 Ti? Even if you couldn't find a 3060 Ti at that price later on, I know I'd overwhelmingly prefer for my money to go towards Ampere rather than Turing. The cherry on top is that even if Nvidia were to re-introduce them, they will be marked up by retailers anyway which, in light of the recent mark-up by board-makers themselves due to the Sino-US cold war, will make them prohibitively expensive.
