Hello everyone.

It's great to be back here on Techpowerup. :toast:

Please allow me to preface this with the statement that I am no professional but I try my best.
I started this OC by beginning with a guide from here: DDR5 Overclocking Guide: Make it Faster - Overclockers
Then I had to tune the voltages as this alone did not manage to get me stability or to my lowest possible timings.
So I lowered some timings until they couldn't go any lower without errors and maxed the frequency with this setup.

So without further ado..
I recently picked up some Gskill DDR5 6000 ram.
Gskill trident Z5 RGB 64gb (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5 6000 48000 CL 30 Dual channel memory.
www.microcenter.com

G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL30 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F5 - Micro Center

Its a 2x32gb (64) GB set running in gear 2.
Voltages are 1.49V on both sticks. They are rated for 1.4V.
VDDQ and VDD2 cpu voltages are at 1.4v
VPP is at 1.9V.
Managed to get some pretty sweet timings with these.
1T, CL28 among other things.
Check it out, I hope it helps someone. Voltages are on the right,
I decided to make another pass with memtest pro just because I was testing lower voltages but it has already made over a 100% pass before.
If there is anything I could do better, please let me know.
Thank you.

Congrats on the overclock. For those wondering what the voltage values are. DRAM 1.5V , SA: 1.25V - VDD2: 1.4V - CPU_VDDQTX: 1.4V. Nothing too crazy.

Part number for the G.SKILL ram comes up as Samsung IC (actually Hynix). CAS timing seem really low for that. Maybe the QVL lists have it wrong?

Can you share your CPUZ memory tab and sub timings too?

Thank you! And sure thing buddy. The CPU-Z memory tab is actually in the first picture, are you referring to something else? It's right next to the timings from HWinfo. But I just attached the Ada score as well.
I'm going to take some pics of my bios right now and upload it. brb.
EDIT: Uploaded some pics of my bios. I'm sure there's more an experienced memory overclocker could do but I really dialed these down as low as they would go until I started getting errors on everything I adjusted, then dialed it back.

I'm actually still stepping the voltages down a bit I think. I thought the DRAM was at 1.49 though, not 1.5. Not sure why it showed 1.5.
Stepping it down to 1.47 right now and checking stability.

Strange. I just set it to 1.47 and now it is resigstering as 1.485.. Actually, It seems to fluctuate between 1.485 and 1.47 now.. Not sure why..
So far so good though, no errors yet.

It's CL 30 rated memory.. What would cause the latency to be 60 you think?

Grab Memtweakit. Easier to deal with vs sceenshots of the BIOS. plus you can do realtime adjustments in windows :)

Nah, this is normal. Its either going to be over or under. Some MB now do allow you to change the PWM on the DRAM, temp limit, etc. haven't tired yet. dangerous stuff if you don't cool it properly.

Memtest is great but it can run to 10000% error free and heavier loads like ycruncher bsods when you click start... or testmem5 anta777 extreme
i'd at least verify it with (Y-Cruncher) BBT, FFT and VST if that's a daily system.

Cool, Ty I will do that.

Ahh ok, great info to know. Tyvm .

anyone have any comments on that 60 latency in Ada? Is that normal? Lol
I mean I see some DDR 4 going as high as near 50 on overclockers forum.. idk.

Hi,

Quad channel averaged around mid 40 but you're running 50% faster so no biggie.

Oh my.. I have no idea how to work this Y Cruncher but Testmem seems pretty straight forward. didn't crash in the 777 extreme.. Yet.. No errors.. yet..lol

Hi,
Interesting experiment would be run with one stick installed and see what latency shows after
Might be cut in half at 30 ;)

I'm not super familiar with DDR5 Samsung ICs honestly.

If you can handle Buildzoid rambles and 90 minute video, he goes over Samsung. Though I disagree that those are good settings for everyone. Worth a try a least.

I was trying to overclock my 13900K and posted about it on Reddit and he took to Twitter calling me a liar without even taking the time to bother to ask me.
I made a mistake, and he thought it was cool to run to Twitter and start bashing somebody just to make himself look good.
I have no respect for people like that.
It’s because of him I will no longer be posting anything about overclocking on the Reddit page that he moderates.
Frankly, he can kiss my *%#…

Hi,
Yeah weird kid

Like most loose kits you likely have to use timings of other loose kits

Hi,
Yeah weird kid

Like most loose kits you likely have to use timings of other loose kits

6600c32 would be
That’s actually part of how I got started overclocking this.

Benchmark Scores Are in the benchmark section
Hi,
Yep best way frankly
How it works is judged by how well your mother board bios trains.

https://benchmate.org/ is good because it has all these benchmarks in one place. Plus you can't cheat on the submissions. Its valid or it isn't. The grey area is for how long. You can certainly cold boot some unstable stuff and get one benchmark run in.

This is I think the lowest latency I've gotten. Maybe like 50 before.. hard to recall because I do it so often. 60 is pretty common. But T1 will knock off a good 5 ns. This was with 2T. 1T didn't work for me at all with 13th gen. Maybe its time to check again now a bunch of BIOS revisions have come out.

Oh so the 60 I have is actually pretty good. Cool. With all the tools you guys have given me. I decided to see how far I can push these things. Right now I’m at 6500 MHz with the same timings.
hasn’t even crashed in Y cruncher. Yet. Lol..

Don't go past 1.5 on Samsung. You'll kill the ICs quick. Also when I was asking for the memory tab, I meant SPD because it will say Hynix, Micron or Samsung.

Oh the first time AIDA64 gives your a value, ignore it. double click the box and get the "correct" value. idk why, but the first one is always 2-10ns higher.

So this is Samsung not Hynix? It says Hynix on the SPD tab. I updated the OP.

I seem to have the 2x16Gb Version.
57ms is the best i can do after getting help searching for "Easy SK Hynix DDR5 timings"
I do have to keep the temps below 45c though to be stable
