Things are looking good for Mozilla's Firefox, which is the most popular competitor to Microsoft Internet Explorer. The latest version of the in-development Firefox 3 is Alpha 7, codenamed "Gran Paradiso". While it is still far from an official release, Firefox 3 already shows much promise, and boasts a long list of very powerful features. Highlights from the Alpha 7:
  • A new bookmarking interface, which adds the ability to tag your favorites.
  • Malware detection, with the help of Google
  • Detection of micro-formats.
  • Private Browsing mode, which allows users to surf the web with anonymity.
  • Support for running internet applications in off-line mode.
Feel free to read the entire sneak peak at PC Mechanic.

We have the Firefox 3 Alpha7 here quite sometime so what is it so importand that took a PC mechanic to check a month later ?

These new features sound pretty good.

Above all tho, I hope they are also focusing on performance. New features don't do a damn bit of good if it slows your browser to a crawl.

I especially like the malware detection, along with Kaspersky it will make internet malware unable to penetrate my computer!

& that safe browsing mode looks excellent as well, I look forward to browsing porn and warez sites with anonymously.

When is it going to be released?

woot...anonymous surfing.!!!!! ::drool::

i like opera better the FF so i dont care very much but it should be an improvement over ff2

Well when Firefox 3 comes out you should be sure to compare the two. ;)

i hate FF3 so far but it is working just fine i think i would like it if i gave it more time.Has anyone else tried it yet?

I haven't yet, I always wait till at least beta 2. By then features are finalized and there a fewer critical bugs.
