yeah, you also gotta remmber amd and intel react diffrently to clocks vs timings and balancing them.
amd chips like lower latancys, IF you can up the clocks and keep latancys down, your gonna get the best from both, but if the ram just cant take the clocks but can deal with decent clocks at good latancys amd will be FINE.

Totally agee. My old Athlon X4 platforms preferred lower timings

just a question, was your test on vista or xp? and was it x64?

It was in both but that was just Crysis testing, VRam will also make a big difference. However, Vista X64 is much snappier with 4GB+ when multi-tasking.

and also seen weird results from memory deviders when overclocking causing WEIRD perf effects, some cases droping fsb a small ammount and chainging the devider gives better perf then higher cpu clock with slitly lower ram clock OR in a WEIRD instance, lower ram clock (about 40mhz) was faster........cant explain it but its best to bench like priced platforms if you ask me.

Yep FSB straps will change the internal MB timings causing memory perfromance drops at higher FSBs on the 680i boards. I have seen much better Everest Read performance on certain FSBs.

in my opinion the PII is like the 38xx series. just the middle ground before the 48xx so i think we should wait and see whats next

Oh also take not the Hard review uses the qx6770 that has 12mb l2 saying that any intel chip including the q9400 can match that easly with overclocking, One HUGE flaw in this, the q9400 has 6mb l2, so at 3.2gz it WILL NOT MATCH THE q9770 at 3.2!!!!!!

for intel chips L2 is a CRITICAL feature, specly for the 775 chips where the memory controler/latancy is FAR worse then amd's.
