Phononic solid-state CPU Cooler Gives Big Cooling Performance in a Small Package

With the way my D9L is performing, I have considerably more faith in air coolers than this 4500rpm gimmick. U9B ==> D9L (more muscle for less size), C14 ==> C14S (better cooling for less fans), D15 ==> D15S...and who said that innovation in air coolers is dead?

There have been attempts at air coolers that implement TEC technology in the past. Specifically, this one 92mm low profile cooler that I just can't seem to find. So this ain't anything new, and ain't worth my money either.

Do you mean the infamous Ultra ChillTec ULT33186?

But yes even big brands like Cooler Master dabbled with TEC hybrids and failed spectacularly.

Their V10 cooler was a joke. A TRUE 120 managed to beat, and it was half the size, weight and even less than half price.

I really don’t see any reason for TEC coolers to still be around.

They were nice in the old days, before we had heatpipes and you needed something for that extra few MHz. But now they are obsolete. Seeing as we now have great heatpipe designs, AIO, "cheap" custom watercooling and for the extra mile LN2.
