Photobucket

I use ShareX and it just uploads to imgur and gives me the link.

Something I took earlier and it goes directly to imgur.

It does a lot of other things too.

:shadedshu:
I have 1022 pics in my 10+ year old free photobucket account. Nearly all of which are linked to posts in one forum or another(including 1 or 2 here). I put a lot of work into providing quality pics to enhance my posts over the years. Most of which won't even be of any real use to anyone now without those pics. It's a sad day for the internet. :(

Apparently you still can do a limited amount of "3rd party hosting" with a free account. Here's what the email I got a few days ago says.

So that's why it still works for some folks.

Don't most forums allow you to upload images as part of the post?

Usually. In one form or another. The forum I used photobucket for the most only allowed uploaded pics to be displayed as thumbnails. Which I didn't like, so I never did it that way. One other forum I used photobucket for you couldn't upload pictures to at all. So photobucket was a good option(especially since I'd already had an account for many years before joining that forum).

it's as though millions memes cried out in terror and then where suddenly silenced

Photobucket is well known to have adware/spyware within.
At the site I moderate we don't allow any outside image hosting since our site is capable of doing it on it's own - Photobucket itself being the very reason this restriction came to be in place.

Don't use it nor care to, if Photobucket were to go away I certainly won't miss it.

Sometimes it's good to have one's own domain name and hosting. You don't have to rely on anyone else to host your images.

Adds galore, slow site. This is what a dying web site looks like

How important is a login feature, which lets you save and manage the pictures you uploaded?

Ability to create albums?
actually yea, albums can be kept separate from other albums and all them can be kept private separately. Thats why I use Imgur. Also, I can drag and drop from windows FileExplorer to Imgur without installing any additional software.

Now, Photobucket wants $400US/year to allow me to share pics.
What?? What genius came up with that idea when there are virtually tons of FREE image hosting sites?
