planing to get a new display screen in end febuari or march and i have on my mind to get a "AOC Q27G4XF black" 2560x1440 (Quad HD) IPS 180Hz https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/2118170/aoc-q27g4xf-zwart/specificaties/
my qeustion is would this screen be a proper improvement for my current one? or should i go all out and get 4k screen instead?
wat im worried about that i needto push my grapics card to the max in ultra to keep up a stable fps 60+ and forced to get a new grapics card earlier then i normaly would when fps drop to low on ultra settings ( les than 60 )
right now i got a 1080p 60hz ips panel only problem is that on ultra settings i can still see inviduel pixels and gets very fogy to look at bushes and trees in games like kindom com deliverance 2 hard to look at it lots of eye strain

Case Matrexx 55 (slightly vandalised)
Audio Device(s) Yes.
Power Supply Thermaltake 1000 W
Mouse Don't disturb, cheese eating in progress...
Keyboard Makes some noise. Probably onto something.
VR HMD I live in real reality and don't need a virtual one.
Software Windows 11 / 10 / 8
Benchmark Scores My PC can run Crysis. Do I really need more than that?
6950 XT isn't a weak GPU by any stretch. I'd go 4K if I was you (will need to go a step or two down to High or Med-High settings with some XeSS/FSR in the most demanding titles). Not really sure which one, have my eyes set on a YOLO purchase of MSI 274URFW (not a recommendation!). 4K is essentially 1080p with proper antialiasing.

I would buy something with "freesync" feature

When you buy 4K you will most likely want to game with that resolution. I may suggest getting WHQD instead.

You may check out those monitor test sites. what they test and what they write to get an initial idea. Not sure if igorslab is a starting point for monitors. I think harware unboxed has a channel monitor unboxed - or just the same channel which tests monitors.

I'm happy with my 75 FPS WHQD ASUS Proart PA278QV, that is color calibrated from the factory. But that screen is not for gaming - it's for work. I usually play with 45 fps and i do not see that with my radeon 7800XT.

You may start your monitor selection with:
curved or not curved
which panel type
price range
display size and display resolution
display connectors / usb charging or not and such
