I went back into Vista to stop testing, and I got the itch, I dont know what happened but im able to hit 1404 on the memory! Wow does vista really destroy your CPU score though! Well im gonna work on upping the proc more without loosing my PCIe bandwith, wish me luck

Help If Anyone Can!

I need help thats quite unrelated to the topic, Im looking to get drivers for the 3870 for OSX Leopard. Im a PC guy all day but all the buzz has peaked my interest and I wanted to test it. I have it up(infact im on it now) and I cannot give it a fair result without having proper drivers for the video. On my 2 monitors(24 & 19) Im running 1024*768, and its horrible, if anyone has anything please let me know.

And Im sorry about posting here!

you are right, it works but there are no drivers for it!! ive found drivers out there, but i have no clue how to use IRC to download files from there

Got the drivers!! Now I have to wait till I get home from work to try them out! Im hoping it works so I can give it a fair review.

well i set the vgpu to 1.36vgpu and tried it at 790mhz core on 3d06.It stomped it,this is with the core at 790mhz and my ram stock.It beat my stock score by loads.

It seems the 22turn trimmer i have is roughly equal to 0.1volt increase per 3 full turns of the screw.

The max temp while running 3d06 with the voltage on 1.36v was 53c using riva tuner to monitor it while i ran 3dmark.

I will post some more scores later,i gotta go out

very very impressive mod, i would like to do that to my 3870 but im gonna wait until it becomes alittle old, just incase i destroy it I dont want to feel like i wasted 250 bucks!

Well, you'll all be happy to know I LOST stability on my cards after I removed the blob of stock paste and replaced it with MX-2! :eek:

This sucks. The cards actually seem hotter even though the temp gauge in CCC say it's running cooler. Tried running Auto-tune (for giggles) and it got me up to 930 core before it hung (my first run of this Auto-tune before changing paste got me to 950 before hang) and the temps were only reported as 52C at 99% load. Of course any attempt to actually "run" the fur bench caused an instant freeze/lock-up. Boo! :mad:

This pencil mod stuff is too fidgety, Ima getin' the stuf to hard mod these suckas! :rockout:

p.s. BTW, nice score uber cookie! Would you be so kind as to adding your "System specs" in your User CP? I'm interested in what board your operating with.

Well I finally hit my goal I had set for myself of 12000

but I don't think I can get much more out of this thing without buying a better CPU

Oh sorry, I was addressing Backlash in regards to Crossfire X on a Bad Axe 2 board.

The temps been 54c max on 3dmark 06.im gonna try higher clocks on 1.36 before i try the vgpu higher.
