ok, so weird issue....

when i start 3dmark06 and i have my card oc'd it crashes immediately.

if the card is stock, it runs fine.

I did the vmod to the card and its running at 1.41 so there should be enough volts running through it.

using ccc 8.2

got any ideas?

Dont think 1.41v is enough for 900mhz stable.

I had a wierd issue with my last HD3870 that in order to run 06 successfully I had to patch it prior to every run!

Is that the speed you're running when 3DM06 crashes?

Do you really thing you killed the Diamond? DanishDevil brought his back after I suggested he give it a thorough wipedown with isopropyl. It's all that darn graphite dust that got redistibuted after you were frantically shading.

Something is not right. Do you have something like ATITool or rthdrbl to start the 3d clocks and measure the voltages and check temps again. Sounds like something is getting too hot/too much voltage.

yeah, i got some caned air and tunred it upside down so the alcohol liquid sprayed right on the pencil mod and then let it dry and then right side up and just air, stuck it back in and nothing.

ok so ive got my proc at 3.8 @ 1.53 v..i think im safe there, no crashes with the proc.

If i oc the card AT ALL it crashes, heck stock it crashes. is this possible because of the vmod?

I'm running into the same issue, 1066 ram that freaks out running over 965mhz

System posts fine, but windows borks

Check your BIOS settings. Do you have any of the "Performance" or "Graphics" settings on "Turbo" or "Extreme"? I the PIC-e locked @ 100 or are you boosting that frequency?

the pci-e frequency is at 115. ive put it at 100, 105, 110, and 115 and they all do it.

I think i messed this card up as well.

Something seems to be flipping out when the 3D clocks/volts kick in. There are so many variables at this point: BIOS flash, pencil-mod, mobo settings (including flash to Rampage).
If you were truly concerned about finding the issue, you would have to reset you mobo BIOS to defaults, flash you card back to original BIOS and wipe your resistor.

You've invested too much time and created so much frustration trying to "hit the ground running". Start from scratch and I'll bet it will work out.

Maybe I've just got a different style, but if I were trying to test the stability of a new VGA BIOS and a volt-mod, I wouldn't have my PCI-e frequency at 115...

I would also have my mobo reset to "optimum defaults".

Not ragging, just sayin'...
