Yeppers! Towards the end of this thread(like pg. 7), some people were posting graphs from OCCT and such to show the voltage spikes.

both very interesting reads! I totally agree with the vdroop senario, as annoying as it may be sometimes, it does serve a great purpose - I think all overclockers should have a read!

Yeah, I read the Anand article. There's is more of a general technical discussion and theories. It doesn't explain the possible rapid deterioration of these 45nm chips.

Oh, and revisit the XS link. It seems the people that get voltage spikes have spikes on their psu as well. So it's not the board to blame. I'm running OCCT right now to see if I'm getting any spikes.

After 30mins of OCCT, I had no Vcore spikes. I have LLC enabled in my BIOS.

The two bios' on the bottom of the collection should work. One says "OC bios fix" whatever that means, and the other one (bottom-most) is the stock. You may want to try a stock Sapphire bios perhaps? What are your temps like? This is very baffling to me as I thought your cards had the horizontal resistor and supported software v-control?! :confused:

Have you tried running your fans higher via Rivatuner? Also, not sure but your card just may need more voltage at different clock states. There is the other HIS bios in the collection that has the higher clocks and different clock state voltages, IF you want to try it. It's the newest one on the list here.

fan is at 100% because its not loud to me

edit: im going to flash with that bios and add some volts to the card. just not to much. maybe like 1.35

If you look at the two 850mhz bios' you'll notice that they give 1.3v's but at different clock states. It's quite possible that your cards just have different voltage needs at different clock states than mine. Hope it works man. :toast:

1.36v and 877 core 1190 mem ati tool running so we will see but i think its stable

it will artifact if i touch the mem though

Whats better to oc though the core or the mem?

core crashed at 891 if i put more v through it, it might actually work

they both boost frames, but the core raises speeds at a higher rate

i just pencil modded it, but i ran 3dmark and it crashed with the volts added so no more volts

It's a bit like drag racing with my mini van :laugh:

I thought it froze in a few spots it was so slow.

If I get a T.E.C and freeze it I might be able to brake 2,000.

I got similar results, with one of my laptops(AMD x2 @1.8, 2 GIG ram, ATI 3450) I got 2250!

I laughed when I ran it!
