This is my work PC.

Xeon w3175X (28/56) @4.9Ghz currently. “This is probably one of my favorite CPU’s of all time. I have owned them all besides the newest Intel 285K”
(192GB) Hexa-Channel DDR4 3800c14 all matching G.Skill Samsung B-die 12x16GB
Asus Dominus Extreme 3647 board
Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC
1/2HP Hailea Chiller
(5) D5 pumps
10 Gallon tank.
Probably 20ft in tubing.
500L/H flow rate, tons of pressure.

Water temp is always 15c year round. I have been running this chiller daily for 3 years across too many different motherboards and CPU’s. It has never let me down.

This really does run as cool as a cucumber.

You have FIVE pumps just for CPU and VRM blocks? Why? Why dont you cool the GPU as well?

How often does the chiller cycle with that additional water tank?

And to that... doesn't MO-RA still make more sense?

I mean, if you’re okay with bath water then sure why not! But yeah, I used one before they’re okay it ended up in the closet and that was years ago‍

Right tool for the right job. Is always what I say. If someone wants extreme cooling performance, then a chiller is the way to go. I’ve personally seen a few 360mm HWLab GTX rads in push/pull with tons of flow, perform practically the same as a Mora3 can. Mora3 can handle more power of course. But still, radiator is still a radiator at the end of the day.

This is a test bench, it has seen many boards and CPU’s and GPU’s. My GPU’s were watercooled, this is just one of many revisions over the years. I merely decided against watercooling this 4090. I go through and change things frequently.

The chiller only cycles about every 8-10 minutes idling, but that’s dependent on what CPU, do we have cstates enabled or not etc, the lower the power, the longer it goes between cycling. But either way it only runs for like a minute or so. It sounds like a mini fridge going. I lock in 15c water 24/7/365.

I use to run big external rads before, radiators are very dusty, restrictive, and just don’t provide temps like this.

People don’t realize that chillers require lots of pressure and flow for best performance which is why it needs five pumps.

Temps can get close to 15c in my basement during the dead of winter, that is pretty sweet that you can have those temps with a warmer ambient :)

I thought about getting a chiller, but I have a small (5000 BTU) window A/C unit that delivers ~10° to 12°C air. When I place my rads directly in front of it, I can get water temps into the mid to upper teens, plus it cools and dehumidifies the room.

Had the rads in the window with outside air at ~0°C, water temps at ~ 5°C.

Not saying a chiller is bad, just more parts to work with.

Been fighting with the middle card all day. I can't seem to get that shitty water block to lay perfectly flat. I'm going to have to redrain the loop so 12 hours down the drain and considering scrapping the idea of running that whole GPU loop and putting them back on air. Descent air coolers but I'll lose about 100MHz core from what I tested before.

It may not seem like it, but It’s really less maintenance. I am so neglectful with my chiller. The water is always so cold it never really grows anything in it. No fans, no radiators, no dust.

I had a daily rig in a case with three big radiators, and every year or so those rads+fans needed to be pulled down for a deep cleaning. They get packed with dust. Now it’s some work tearing it down and maintaining it all. Now maybe that’s just me, because I like things to always look clean and nice.

Now, I do believe in right tool for the right job. Thats not saying anything is wrong with cases and radiators but they are higher maintenance to keep things running 100% and looking really good. I actually just bought a Lian Li V3000 Plus, to build inside of with regular radiators and regular fans lol.

But I love the fact that I can neglect my chiller and tank loop for years and just leave it be. Flow rate is always the same, it’s always clean. There’s never any dust accumulation that can harm/reduce the performance.

Nothing wrong with standard radiators. Having numerous setups is probably the best way. I mean, I have a AIO rig in my living room. Nothing too extreme, it gets the job done.

Your loop is the first loop that actually interests me, I like it a lot :)

haha, the cooler makes that rear case fan nearly useless XD. Always wanted to try one of those ProSiphon coolers, but not wedged into a case like that. Just to see what kind of thermals that bad boy can actually handle. Nice rig.
