But I'm about to go get some new standoffs
Be extra careful there.
I thought standoff height was standardized?
No. It is not. This is why Sattergrunt needs to be extra careful.

Case manufacturers select the exact size of the standoffs for that specific case they come with. This is not just so the case's rear-panel I/O are aligns properly with the motherboard, but so the expansion card slots ensure any inserted cards align properly with the card slots in the case.

Also it is essential to ensure the two thread counts used in the standoffs are correct for both the case mounting points and the motherboard's mounting screws.

My advice is to use only the standoffs the manufacturer provided.

I thought standoff height was standardized?
You think it would be.. it kind of makes sense but sometimes I wish we had more standardization.
have you tested the board? happy with the features?
The board provides the features I need, and it boots fine on spare gpu. Just a matter of making it work with my 2080 super.
Okay, FE cards like that are super compatible.

What does your motherboard IO shield look like? If it's sitting low to the motherboard tray that for sure confirms that you need the right standoffs to solve your problem.
That's the weird thing, I went to check and it looked fine with the old standoffs. But the clearance issue remains. Honestly tempted to just get a riser cable and a vertical mount and calling it a day.

I laid the PC down flat to get a better angle and yea, it looks like it's the SATA ports on this motherboard that are blocking it from making full contact and properly locking into PCIE 1 slot. I don't think there's a realistic fix here without spending any moolah.

The issue there is that the standoffs I have are from a Chinese company, so any chances I can get more standoffs from them is effectively 0. They don't sell them separately either. I'm determined to make it work though, if possible. The standoffs are cheap and god awful anyway.

No stores near me sell standoffs either, so I can't get any nicer less loving to get stuck all the time standoffs that could. I'm honestly just banking on luck at this point if I need new standoffs (which I really do.) I'm trying to measure them very carefully, seeing if I can any standoffs that are similar enough in dimension.

Not really:

M3 x 6mm is pretty common, but I've seen M3 x 10mm plenty of times and even imperial 6/32" standoffs.

It's standardised about five different ways, which means it's not standardised :(

I understand but if not the correct height, you risk putting undue strain on any expansion cards. And if too short, you risk shorting out the board with the case.

If the thread counts are wrong, you will strip out the threads of the standoffs, case and/or motherboard mounting screws.

If me, I would look at getting a different graphics card - one that physically fits.

I mean, there's a chance a vertical GPU mount could work w/ a raiser cable. Replacing the GPU entirely is a last resort, as I'm not THAT in love with the motherboard where I'm gonna pick it over the gpu.

That's why I'm trying to match the thread count as best as I can.. honestly it's just a sticky situation as a whole. God knows I'm never buying any mobo like this again.

Has nothing to do with the mobo design but the design of the gpu, i gave the reason, it's too fat on 1 side.

You might consider selling the 2080ti while you can, and you can look at other gpus via the links i gave in my previous reply

Heck here are several cards that are not fat on that edge, look at the pcb edge by the pcie blade. Just like what mine is and its 10-12 yrs older.

Example of a Stock and Aftermarket card are below.

Ironically enough I was actually thinking of buying a 6800XT or 7900 GRE for my next gpu upgrade haha. I see what you mean though.

The GREs have been discontinued so you might want to consider getting 1 quick before scalpers hike the price to insanity, otherwise step up to a 6900XT or 7900XT/X

I was figuring that. The 6800 to 6900xt also seem to go for really good used prices. Its just a matter of what I find for a better price first usually.

anyway, I got a solution figured out. Thank you all for the help.

I suggest you use the nv clean uninstaller/ddu or a fresh os due to crap that gets left behind by the nv drivers.
