Cry all you want dude, it is an effective cooling design, another point to make cooling doesnt need to be an exhaust type to keep stuff cool, its the matter of cool air coming into the case that counts.
Is this really new It's just OEM version of ACs Accelero L2 Pro with black fin fan and we saw quite a few designs based on same cooler by Sapphire on HD4670 512MB GDDR4 PCI-E (HDMI version) for first time and then followed by HD4670 512MB GDDR3 "New Edition", HD4670 1GB GDDR3. On at least one VTX3D card (TUL brand) HD4670 1GB DDR3 and their AGP counterpart HD4650 1GB DDR3.
Twelve of their own (Powercolor) previous card designs
PCS HD4670 1GB DDR3,
PCS HD4670 512MB DDR3,
PCS HD4670 512M GDDR4,
PCS HD4770 512M GDDR5 (V1),
PCS HD4770 512M GDDR5,
and even that poor, overheating, cut down RV770 128-bit design like
PCS HD4730 512MB GDDR5 HDMI,
PCS HD4730 512MB GDDR5,
even on three HD4800 designs
PCS HD4850 1GB HDMI,
PCS HD4850 512MB HDMI,
PCS HD4830 512MB HDMI,
and finally two AGP HD4600 cards (and i don't see much of difference between these two beseide different viewing angle)
PCS HD4670 1GB DDR3 AGP,
HD4670 1GB DDR3 AGP (V2)
And now they gave us another five brand new HD5700 graphics cards based on same cooling solution -- on so praised PCS+ cooling solution
PLAY! HD5770 1GB GDDR5,
PCS+ HD5770 1GB GDDR5,
HD5770 512M GDDR5,
PCS HD5750 1GB GDDR5
HD5750 512M GDDR5.
And i must say i don't see how this is winning cooling design except it's winning busines move when they contracted Arctic Cooling Accelero L2 Pro supplier and have a winning deal.
We should ask happy PowerColor HD4850 customers how are their cards breathing and if they're alive after 12 month of use. I didn't believe that some o people report how PCB is melt and bent under GPU on some HD4850 cards but when i saw this smart solutions i'd say s-hit is possible when you buy hight TDP card as HD4850 and even HD4830 are tha's equipped with crappy cooler that's designed for max.70W TDP not 120W HD4850 kind of loads or 90W+ that HD5770 have.
But it's certainly good for business to sell crap cards that will last as long as guarantee lasts 12-18 month. And then that buyer will go back and buy some other affordable brand frome same corporation as VTX3D or Club3d or go with some other budget solutions that comes and goes as year passes like Peak.
While some solutions like triple-slot bulky AC Twin Turbo on retail card is good as peace of mind and properly cooled card goes, this is simple customers rip off when we see that no other Graphic card company didnt go with crappy cooling like this on 120W HD4850 cards. But hey, it still might be better than that Formula ASUS original design or that HD4770/HD5750 cooler design. But somehow i have more trust in cheap orbs than in those large aluminium bulk solution that also consumes three slots
