TUL Corporation, a leading manufacturer of AMD graphics cards, today announced a powerful addition to the PowerColor HD4890 series: the PCS++ HD4890. As an advanced version of the PCS+ HD4890, the PCS++ HD4890 has all the key features of the PCS+ HD4890, including ZEROtherm's exclusive cooling system, the fastest ever single GPU solution and a four-heatpipe design to deliver the most efficient cooling performance. The ZEROtherm cooling system provides the perfect balance between operating in a quieter environment and heat dissipation performance.

The PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 overclocking ability shines through, delivering the utmost gaming experience with its default 1010MHz core speed and 1100MHz memory speed. In order to offer the most stable overclocking platform, the PCS++ HD4890 has an upgraded PWM design through, using polymer capacitors and reducing RDS(on) of MOSFET. The result is a reduction in temperature and output voltage, providing a stable and cool overclocking solution.

"The PowerColor PCS++ HD4890 is unlike any product in our lineup. The overclocking ability of this card is second to none," said Ted Chen, CEO of TUL Corporation. "The HD4890 series and the PCS++ HD4890, in particular, are in a class of their own when it comes to combining speed and stability."

Limited Battle Forge Edition: Experience Ultimate DirectX 10.1 Gaming Power*
To deliver the ultimate DirectX 10.1 experience, PowerColor is also releasing a special edition game bundle-the PCS++ HD4890 Battle Forge edition. The game features DirectX 10.1 technology, only available on ATI based video cards. For more information on the game visit www.battleforge.com.

10 more mhz than the sapphire, who wants this now

We'll see which is cheaper:D
not like we cant OC it ourselves!

Wow!! They are really pushing this new chip. It's like they are taking all the overclocking fun out of the equation. I guess I would rather have a guaranteed high core/mem rather than a chip that didn't overclock well.

First one that hits the egg im getting. I have a coupon I need to use!!!

EDIT: I just one with a non reference cooling!!!

SOOOO very tempting...My 4850s are aging, but the 5xxx series are around the corner...Patience is a virtue. :banghead:

Wow, Im loving those clocks. Wonder if it adds anything in FPS. I keep saying this but Im hoping ATI will notice, they are fast, but when Nvidia can out perform using GDDR3, they may want to unlock their pipes separately and allowing clocking of them. Can you imaging 800 SPs clocked at like 1100mhz??

lol its got TWO pluses.

PLUS plus PLUS = AWESOME PLUS

Now where's PCS+++?

how about
+1(awesome card)+1(good looks)+1(good brand)+1(good cooling)-1(ATi)=AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Another popular example for that would be C++, only that we don't have a C+. It's not really a grade to be proud of.

the cooler aint that great. its barely changed from the one on my 4870's.
powercolor just fudge the temp sensors so they seem colder (my cards ALWAYS report 50C idle, even when the heatpipes on the cards were 70C+)

Youre missunderstanding abit, nvidia's design using 448 bits of high end GDDR3 to achive approx 130-140 gb/sec while ATI uses 256 Bit GDDR5 to achive 130 gb/sec+ and no high end chips either(low timings though)

I see varied reports on if 275 really is faster, but still there is a minor margin, i'd like to say they compete head to head with a price diffrence of 5 euro's.

Now to what ATI/nvidia gets from their cards.
Ati: 256 MM^2 utlizes more of a wafer aswell as being almost 2 times smaller as gtx 275.(470MM^2 / 256MM^2 = 1.8)
There is also memory bus that is at 256 bits which result in less complexity in design, and able to use 4 layer pcb.
Nvidia: Cost alot for the core itself, the fact that its a massive chip at 470 MM^2 and the wafers get less utilized in the corners due to core size(they are circular, and press squares in there, you can fit way more small, and utilize more of the working area.
Memory bus is also 448 bit, resulting in great bandwidth on GDDR3, however, their chips is a little bit expensive, they need 8 layer pcb(not 100% sure) but still, more complex board thus more expensive.

Both chips are 55NM.

Last sentence, unsure if there is some architectual design that might hinder it, that it need something synced.

+1 ATi, AMD/ATi have been doing a fantastic job of releasing awesome products and really stepping it up in Q1/Q2 09.

LOL I knew there would be ppl flaming my posts:D

I want to see a set of four of these running under LN and a 955 on LN to set a top score that is untouchable for awhile.

so other sign of "+" to 10 more core speed than others

this card looks extremely good.. i want benchies!!!!!!!!!!!

hahhahaha

I know alot of ppl talk $*** about power color but im on one now and its the best ATI ive ever had i got it just to survive a lil longer (3850 AGP). Just the BOX alone was amazing lol. That card looks sooo Bad@ss, I like the ASUS dual fan but it looks no where NEAR as awsome as that. Might have to pick this up

OK its been two months. Everyone know if its been released?

Bta, I think he's referring to the PCS++. Not the PCS+... If there one of the same and just a marketing gimmick....

newegg has the + one in stock

The PCS+ is 950 Core. The PCS++ is 1010 Core as indicated in the press release two months ago. I am looking for the PCS++. alot of gaga went out over this as it is over 1GHz.

Yeah, I don't see nothing but press releases on the card...
