A Vega 64 for 1/2 the money and 50% less power draw. These are perfect for mid to high end Small Factor builds.

I had 5600xt rog strix for a few weeks with 14gbps memory. Excellent card, overclocked to the max allowed cool, quiet...but lacked a little performance @ 2560x1080p in Ac Odyssey so I sold it. I bought used Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro and the difference in Ac Odyssey is night and day. Volumetric clouds are just something that is much easier processed with vega 64, and 5700xt which I also had a few months ago. Very interesting why is 5600xt so sensitive to this because 6gb ram is more than enough for 2560x1080 in Odyssey. Maybe deliberately crippled in driver?

FWIW, the Vega 64 has almost twice as much theoretical compute performance for single precision floating point math, has almost twice as much texturing capacity than the 5600xt, and has almost twice as much memory bandwidth on paper. The 5700 XT also has a lot more texturing capacity than the 5600 XT.

Yes, vega is that more powerful and that brings me to conclusion that it's performance is also capped in a way...how else to explain the graphs where 5600xt and vega 64 are almost identical even at 2k resolution? Ac odyssey is the only game where there is a distinct difference between the two at 2k. I don't buy that newer architecture stuff at all because it all comes down to processing power and the ability to count 0 and 1....and if you deliberately optimize new hardware more than older one..well you can create all the difference you want. Odyssey is one of the more demanding games these days, blamed to be unoptimized and yet vega 64 beats 5600xt by fair margin @2k... a proof how much stronger vega is. Therefore with proper driver optimization vega should be more powerful in other games too.

I'm not sure. All I can say is that the Vega 64 is about twice as fast as the R9 390 that I replaced and I noticed considerably better performance. My first guess without knowing more about your system is that you're CPU bound. Even with my 3930k at 4.5Ghz, there are some games that are bottlenecked by the CPU, even at 4k.

I also have r9 390nitro for backup, vega 64 nitro is almost twice as fast yes. I have ryzen 3600x and 32 gb in dual channel,2 x 16gb dual rank 3200 ram.. although there is something to it still that iregardless of cpu usage not reaching max amd is still lagging behind intel. I had i5 8600k which has 6 logical cores less than 3600x bu still managed to pull faster in some games. Ryzen has better ipc and more cores and yet 8600k is still faster...

To w1zzard from techpowerup,
Thanks a lot, thank you so much for not just doing a comprehensive review,
Thank you so much for uploading the actual cards length dimensions, board against a ruler.
This helps a ton for case compatibility.
Thanks a lot.

Is there any waterblock, machined or universal that fits this GPU?
