If you've been waiting for years for a product that meets your gaming desires, you'll pay for it (if you have the means). 4K high refresh gaming is something I've always wanted and its basically here... just waiting for the right monitor.
If you act like an animal and follow urges and/or impulses instead rational thinking following your brain than yes, you will buy it no matter what the price is. Sometimes the urge is so strong you will take a loan to get it. It is very common nowadays with people using social media being convinced to purchase some fancy stuff just to feel superior.
To be fair, I've got a 4k 144Hz screen and 6900xt and it is enough for 4k gaming with high refresh. Obviously 4090 will be better but not for that price. I wont pay that much for it.

I'll just ignore your opening sentence... Many people will set aside the money for their upgrades, not everyone in the gaming space is broke. In my case, I've retired once already and have the means to upgrade. Gamers are no longer just sitting in their mom's basement gaming all day (no offense to anyone in here that this statement applies to), they hold respectable well paying jobs. This is a hobby for many and it shouldn't be frowned upon. Its just like those who are into sports cars they drop $150,000 or more...do they need it? No. But they want it and its perfectly fine in my eyes. Back to the topic on hand, I stated "If you've been waiting for years for a product that meets your gaming desires, you'll pay for it", is that not what you did? You found the specs you wanted and you bought them. Someone will look at your system and be like, nobody needs that kind of power. I was reminded the other day about the power draw on the two 8-pin ATi 295x2 and I stumbled across the price, it was $1499 (2014). People bought it because that card met the specs they wanted.

Be happy their are people who want the fastest as it will keep these companies pushing harder to create and sell top tier electronics. Eventually, the tech will trickle down to other "affordable" price points.

I'm sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention.

I wasn't offended, I just didn't agree with the early adopters having animal-like tendencies.

Hi,
Only so much they can do with a air cooler systems
Either 2 or 3 fans, you don't want them to go back to blower style do you, those are shit coolers.
I do want them to go back to dual slot blower cards. When done right, they are good.

I would never buy a card called "devil".
Why do they use this name instead of something more like "Godlike", "Zeus", or any of the many Greek mythology characters:

I am looking for the 2-2.5-slot versions with 2 8-pin PCIe connectors:

Devil > Entire Greek mythology

If it weren't for the PowerColor Red Devil i'd 100% still be with my 1080Ti Gaming X; plus...
it's insanely fun to see the religious ones going full tilt over the name and theme of a piece of hardware.

Seriously. Good thing we are in a free country and free market, they can all buy the pink cards from the chinese brand... :D
The Red Devils been my card of choice from the past couple gens and couldnt be happier.

I got something important wrong and need to rectify it, and seemingly can not edit the previous post (that I am quoting instead).
I have a 5700XT Red Devil, I got it specifically because the fans don't spin up until the GPU hits 50C, so perfect with my ultra low noise build when not gaming. Of all of the 5700XT models it was clearly the best option for me, and it was actually cheaper than the next nearest option (from Sapphire). I have been very pleased with it. If the next generation of cards has a model that fits my needs, and isn't a crazy price, I will upgrade, I tend to upgrade every other generation or two.

The 5700XT Red Devil's fans do not spin up until the core hits 60 (yes sixty) decrees Celcius, if their 7000 generation cards can do the same I will be very nterested as I am heavily focussed on "blissful silence" (or at least a very low noise level that is broadband, has no spikes or annoying tones etc).

For comparision, I get very irritated if my fans are not running at 40% by the time the temps hit 45C. Not everyone cares about a minor amount of fan noise.
