Q9550 or E3110?

what does it matter, aren't we trying to help the op make hte right decision, lets not let this thread get out of control

I don't know off the top of my head, I never said 6 hours, I said 3-4. I'll see him tomorrow and ask him what he has.

This is my final thought for the night.

IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, the only chip atm I would use for any video encoding, would be a quad. They have always worked FOR ME better then a dualie. Niko, that's my thought, I stand by it, and I hope whatever you choose works well for you.

the Q9550 is a better chip but all am saying is at that price it's not really better. A e0 dual screams ask anyone who has one. One big thanks and love fest LOL!!! good for you guys peace.

im going to have to agree with trt740. With current processors, you would have to get a Q9650 just to beat an E8400, primarily in CURRENT(being the keyword) programs and games. However, multiple cores are the future, and i wouldnt be surprised seeing 32 and 64-core processors in the next decade.

Well I have found my quad at the same clock as my dual to be about 50-60% faster with the real processor intensive programs I run for video and sound...

I'm thinking the quad might be the way to go for me, being I don't get a ton of time to game taking a 4850 over a 4870 isn't going to kill me in that case either I don't think...

I really didn't know how far that chip clocked which is what really got me thinking, I know a few of the new quads really sucked for clocking.
