Question About SSD NVMe Reviews – What About Brands Like Movespeed, Kingspec, Fanxiang?

Hi everyone,

Something that’s been on my mind lately is that, after checking out the SSD reviews here on TechPowerUp, I haven’t seen anything about brands like Movespeed, Kingspec, or Fanxiang.

From what I’ve read and seen around, it seems like these brands are releasing NVMe products that are fairly decent in terms of quality and reliability. Of course, I might be wrong, but I get the impression that they could be interesting options.

I’d love to see how these SSDs perform under TPU’s microscope, with your super detailed and objective analyses. It would be great to know if they deserve any kind of recommendation badge or not, like you do with other brands.

I understand that you have a lot of work and can’t review everything, but maybe at some point, you could take a look at them. I think it would help provide a more complete picture of the market and uncover options that might be less known but still worth considering.

This was just a small doubt that’s been bugging me, I don’t want you to think I’m criticizing or anything like that! I’d just love to see a wider variety of brands in SSD reviews, especially if they’re offering competitive products.

What do you guys think? Has anyone here tried these brands?

Cheers!

Never heard of any of them. Why would you want to even consider using some unknown brand that may not even exist next week?

I know what you are saying. They have them on Newegg and Amazon for in some cases much less than drives from Kingston, Crucial and the like. They also claim 7000 mb/s at 4.0. Ediloca is another. I do believe they are all Chinese. I bought a couple and they can be poor at writing but great at reading.

If you search for an SSD on Amazon, these brands will be all over the place. Also Fikwot, which gets the crown for the most hilarious brand name, imo.

Edit: I'm tempted to get a Fikwot drive just for science actually.

Asian Market (primarily) NVMe brands, branching out into the North American Market(s), are fine by me.
After all, most of the brands we are familiar with, are also Made in China...

Kingspec, in-particular has been available on NewEgg for years. Fanxiang, seems to be pushing more on the Amazon-side. I'm less-familiar w/ Movespeed, tho.

I agree, we need more reviews on these products. The issue I foresee though, is the same thing that's happened w/ Kingston, etc. -Once favorable reviews are in, specs change.

I've actually bought a NIC recently, almost entirely because of the (hilarious) brandname.
Was looking for a multi-gig PCIe NIC, and stumbled upon one of these on eBay:

I've used and like Kingspec. They are a very decent budget brand and have been consistently reliable. Never heard of Movespeed and as such have no opinion. Fanxiang however is, in my experience, garbage. At least they were a few years ago when I gave them a go. Maybe they've improved since then.. I wouldn't risk it..
