Two things I have to say on the cooler is this:
Show me a cooler on top of the card or venting from the top, all of the circuitry that gets real hot is on the bottom. Hence the coolers tend to suck from the bottom :O.
With my dual 1900's, they ran MUCH cooler with a fan blowing on them from the backside. With my 3870 it was the same thing. Surprisingly even the 5770 does. I would not rule out this fan system. The big question is how quiet it will be!
