Radeon HD 7900 to Introduce Eyefinity 3D, HD 7970 European Pricing Surfaces

Like the 750 dollar 6990? Or a water cooled 6970? 7xxx series comes out and nvidia's flag ship card prices will dump like the ATI cards did when they came out with the 5xx series.

Let me tell you something Mr.Ten I don't by nvidia because I don't like their TV support and I don't particularly like their coloring in games. I also don't like the huge amount of power they require or the heat they produce. I have been on both sides of the fence and for the last purchase ATI had the better options.

The last Nvidia card I owned was the 285. One of the best cards they ever made until their 5xx series which are quite good I admit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with ATI cards and I don't buy them because of a "budget" I buy them because I like them.

I used to buy Nvidia cards.... then i took an arrow to the knee

Obviously not the games your playing or on the displays better than 1080p. You absolutely need that kinda horsepower for multi display. Or high end 1000 dollar displays with a high pixel count. Some of you guys just talk out of your collective asses with no idea how the better half really lives.

Plain and simple boys. More horsepower is ALWAYS better. 500 dollars is very reasonable for a new video card in my humble opinion. I never spend less than 400 bux when I upgrade.

As an HD6990 Crossfire owner I think I can say what I've said
Please take a look at the harware spec of someone before arguing :)

I own a 3008WFP and an U3011, sounds familiar?

Tell you what. Get the new serious sam. Increase the monster count by 400 percent and max out your settings. Let me know how you make out.

I Digress i didn't even get to the end of your original post after reading a bunch of garbage prior. Jumped the gun a little on that one. ;-)

So AMD presumes their 7970 would be able to compete with 2x us$250 6950's ? for the same price and by launch time the 6950's would likely go down to us$200 ~ us$187 each.

So the 7950 would be closer to AMD smoke pot prices of us$380 ??and 2x 6950's would still nuke the 7950 LMAO. :toast:

HUH, I wonder is the heatsink made of gold or something. $400~$420 amd7970 would be high but closer to realistic.
Amazing how when they shrink stuff it becomes cheaper to produce but cost nearly double when it reaches retail outlets / prices. :nutkick:

Think I will pass on the 79** GPU's for now until they become less "Apple product" insane with the prices or buy Nvidia this round.

So long as a single HD 7970 can run games like Skyrim with "ABSOLUTELY" full MAX PQ-EYE CANDY at 1920x1080p and can outperform 2 x HD 6970's in CrossfireXm then I may be sold.

But I plan on waiting for benchmarks and a price drop.

It's because the HD 7970 is based on a brand new design and should be 50% faster than the HD 6970 and 10% faster vs. the HD 6990.

A 1gb 9800gt could probably max out skyrim man.

CPU limited game not gpu limited.

Maybe vanilla Skyrim with no AA or AF, CFX profile for Skyrim is blocked to max 2 GPUs and I have them maxed at 99% with almost 4GB of VRAM usage (MSI Afterburner).
I'm using a lot of HD textures and the game asks for horsepower at 1600p

You Nvidia fanboys crack me up. It's worse than politics. How quickly you forget how many times Nvidia has released some new video card that is a screaming 10-15 percent faster for 2-3 hundred dollars more. 6970 can keep up to a 580 no problem for 2-300 dollars less. Frankly... the 6970's are under valued.

Lest we forget how absolutely horrible sli has been up until omg... just now actually. They finally gave people more than a 20-30 percent increase, with driver support for games, and omg its just better some how. Maybe just maybe all the money they made of the triple 8800gtx / 260 / 285. Which by the way never kept up to ATI's Crossfire. Please keep in mind the POWER useage factor with cough cough... SLI. Is it any wonder the major board manufacturers have a massive crossfire line up????

Crossfire on the other hand has been working for quite some time now giving most consumers nearly double the performance over a single card. So they are actually getting what they pay for. It's simply astonishing. I'd say get off your horse before you fall off son.

This pretty much says it all. Market Share

Pretty much any card above 2900xt specs can do 16xaf with very little performance hit.

I'll give you AA though, older cards were not brilliant at it, installing it on my parents rig soon ( 1gb 9800gt) so will let you know.

Regarding your ram usage though, it's actually only nearly 2gb you are using, dual GPU cards have two sets of 2gb that have the same data on them.

So it doesn't really count as 4gb usage : ]

It looks like it could be legitimate! Then again, it says OBR on the picture. That's guy's been pretty much blacklisted on the internet from what I can tell.

He did make shit up, but he was right in the end. So should he be trustworthy now? I have no idea. Maybe?

Screw it, I'll call fake and be proven wrong or right when it gets here.
