The flagship graphics card from AMD, Radeon R9 295X2, started selling, and is listed by leading retailers worldwide. AMD set the MSRP of this card at US $1,499, the pre-tax price could swing by ±5%. At that price, the R9 295X2 is the costliest reference-design graphics card by AMD, and is currently the fastest one money can buy. A dual-GPU on a stick solution with two 28 nm "Hawaii" GPUs, the R9 295X2 features a total of 5,632 GCN2 stream processors (2,816 per GPU), 352 TMUs (176 per GPU), 128 ROPs (64 per GPU), and a total of 8 GB of memory, across two 512-bit wide memory interfaces. The card is cooled by a factory-fitted water-cooling solution by Asetek.

Taxes here are making dollars equal to euros most of the times. So yes, when you read $1499 you do expect 1499€ and not 1100€.

I know our fellow gamers in the UK pay a 20% VAT on imports. If the EU has a similar policy then that would account for some of the difference but certainly not all. What amazes me is when Steam prices a game in the US at $59.99 and prices the game in Euros at €59.99. Currently a Euro is worth $1.38.

Coin miners going to clean this up like every other Radeon?

At 1500 dollars/euros I don't think many are interested in this card. So, who really cares? Maybe a few hundred or a single digit thousands. Those with money in the pocket for a card like this I bet they moved/will move, before miners realize this card exists.

thats pretty high
US $1,499 in indonesia just add 0000 = 14.990.000 at least
OMG with that price i can get old corolla
but i guess in short moment AMD would release the lower one since they create big gap from previous product

Lucky for us Portuguese dudes, we only pay 23% tax ... AWESOME ...

I recently bought Diablo III's expansion, Reaper of Souls and it cost me 40€. It was on sale for $40 in the US, @ the time.

I guess ill wait and see how the prices will be in 2 months. First i got to get me a CPU upgrade, and then ill see what is on the market. Perhaps in 2 months time prices will drop / or we will hear more about ARES III, and or the 8gb radeon versions.

The CPU upgrade is gonna cost me dearly though. 2x2690v2 ouch !

I just can't believe people still don't understand how taxes works.

You are about to spend over $4000 for the two processors

but you are going too wait 2 months to see if 295X2 will drop a hundred dollars or more?
Does not compute.

The reason people go for watercooling is to eliminate fans on the card and dust buildup all together, this is sort of in conflict with that reasoning. If I were to buy this card I'd still want to take off the cooler and do a full loop instead.

South Korea is selling at 2k USD :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Same in Japan and Australia.
I guess U.S. is the only privileged country who has those prices.
